I must be doing it wrong as I never been snagged.???

I hooked a log on a Ned rig in about 1.5' of water.  I could see it stuck there.

 

As I was flicking my rod trying to get it unstuck, a 2 pounder came and swiped it loose.

Late this year I was yak fishing on the Delta. I was using a spinning setup and the line somehow got wrapped around the handle and spool housing....oh come on it's happened to you too!!!

 

A bass grabbed it and was jumping out of the water as I tried to untangle the line. It got away. Three hours later I had no other bites.

If I told you how many bass I catch on “hung” lures, you probably wouldn't believe me ? It’s actually become a “pattern” for me on certain bodies of water.

The temptation is to great to bob the bait after casting over a limb, wish I could refrain from that. 

Not from a snag that I can recall but I've hooked a few on weightless worms while picking out a bird's nest. 

 

It should have taught me a lesson about the importance of patience when fishing with worms, but it hasn't. I can't let them sit unless I'm forced to.

Yes, if the conditions are right, I will intentionally (that is my story and I’m sticking with it) hang a lure on overhanging grass, weed, small limb to suspend the lure either right above or at the water line. This has produced some awesome strikes. It is helpful to be patient as it may take some time to gather interest. When the water is clear you can see them gather around waiting for an ambitious one to have a go at it. Keep movement to a bare minimum to entice but not scare. Just remember to retie often as this technique abrades the line.

 

What started out as just being a sour lemon event turned into a lemonade technique for catching fish! Cheers!

Over the years ,yes!  Also while picking out a professional bird nest, while pulling in a mess of weeds, and while bringing in a tree branch.  I have seen not it all, but a lot!

The hung on a branch, pick out the backlash, and answer the phone are three of my best producing presentations...

I have caught 40 to 50 thousand bass and I can only remember this one time where a bass snatched my snagged lure then  unsnagged it  .  You guys say its happenned a lot . My memory must be lagging .

You're just so good, you don't need to resort to snagging your lure in order to get bit like the rest of us have to
