Apologies as I know it’s redundant.......

 

My prescription changed again and and it’s imperative that I wear sunglasses in all but very low light conditions.

 

I am on an Oakley program and have my high and no light conditions covered.

The only low light lens I have used are yellow range glasses.

 

What color is best for overcast fishing.  My rep is recommending a copper base.

 

Thoughts?

 

Though cloud cover knocks down luminosity, apparently ultraviolet rays penetrate clouds quite well.

(Skin cancer rates are higher in the north than the south). To admit enough light during low-light conditions,

any light-color is preferred, such as light amber, yellow, light gray ~.

I like the brown and copper type lenses for low lite and blue for bright days.  The contrast is amazing with both.  

 

I have developed a like for Smith sunglasses.  They have good customer service and some of their glasses come in an RX version.  My personal favorites are the Guides Choice.  These are the brown and green ones I have. 

 

 

 

Oakley tint isn't as dark as it looks. I have the prizm black which is one of the darker colors and I can see in overcast with them. They have the deep and shallow waters also. Ive thought about getting the lens so I could change them out but found the prizm black works good for blocking sun glaring of snow or even low light. Be prepare if you get them prescription mine where around $750 with HD progressive. Go to an Oakley store if you can't get what you want online. The flak 2.0 XL online can't do progressive but the stores will.

When I was in the Army I had a pair of Wiley X glasses with interchangeable lenses. It had a pair of orange lenses and when i tried them I was really suprised. On a cloudy day i could see more clearly, but all the shades and brightness was even. Nothing too bright or too dark. I wish I still had them. 

I'm on the water at first light 99% of the time. I wear yellow lenses in this low light condition as it gives me the most contrast so I can see anything that might be floating on the water. When the sun comes out, I switch to blue lenses. YMMV
