I'm curious as to what's the story behind the incident.

Further investigation has learned that witnesses heard him yelling

"Hold My Beer !"

But he was alone . . . . . .

I’m going to guess it was done on purpose, for their 5 minutes of internet fame.

To destroy a 60 year old runabout, not to mention the costs to remove the boat from the parking lot and scrap it seems a little far fetched for 5 minutes of fame.

I just spent 2 weeks on a chain of lakes in Wisconsin that are overpopulated by rental pontoons and people who don’t know the first thing about safety or things as simple as being able to read no wake, shallow area and navigational buoys.  It kept the sheriff quite busy so this doesn’t surprise me at all.?

Maybe he was thinking “I saw a guy do this in an airboat. Besides, my buddy said just drive his boat onto the trailer in the parking lot”.
All kidding aside, hopefully this brain sturgeon didn’t get anyone, including himself hurt...
