Hard body swim bait recommendation?

Featured Replies

I have fished soft swim baits, but want to give hard bodies a try. I fish in N AL waters. Do you all have anyone in particular to recommend? There are so many, like any other lure, so it is hard to know.

Depends on how much you want to spend but a MS Slammer, 7" Shine Glide, or FishLab Bio Wake Gill would be good ones on the lower end.

You talking large swimbaits or smaller?

A few good ones already mentioned. The S-Waver 168 is a solid glide bait that won't break the bank. Another one is the Storm Arashi Glide.

5-6 inch bullshads and a G2 shellcracker.

What's your budget and what gear do you have to throw them on? So many great lures out there.

Thanks all for the recommendations so far.

I have a variety of bait casters and rods up to medium-heavy. I'm willing to spend whatever I need to so I will have the best chance of catching fish. Same for the size; whatever is the better size.

The Savage Gear 4Play is a good cheap swimbait.  I know its a glide but its extremely effective, and you don't need a broomstick rod to safely cast it.

As mentioned, the MS slammer works, as does the Triple Trout. Be sure to check that the weight of the baits don't exceed your rod rating.

There’s so many, I love Ms slammer! Limit lures, drt klash Line up, triple trout. Bullshad, Matt lures, DS customs, savage gear so Many company’s

Bullshad and a Spro rat won't break the bank. For a real bargain get you the 7" Ima Glide-Fluke (sinking). It's on sale at TW right now for $13.

Sorry, bass rods. I can always buy another rod and reel if I need to.

Dobyns is discounting the DC794SB $100 that meets your needs, jump on that deal.

River2Sea 160 and 200 are good choice for the money, If you want to level up, Baitsanity for cheaper and Deps 250 if you willing to pay more.

Good luck finding one of those.  Blackdog is MIA as of late.

River 2 sea s waver is probably the best bang for the buck .  Trout color works pretty well
