I’ve read the 2027 5.3 has been totally redesigned to eliminate the lifter problems. Time will tell.

@A-Jay have you given any thought to the baby duramax? I’ve heard and read nothing but good things about them.

Can not justify a diesel run rig.

I’ve been readying myself for the possibility of a new whip. I just read where GM is going to make the High Country in a lifted off road version. I’m interested to see how the new 5.7 performs.

New 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Crew Cab in #2G26765 | Sid Dillon

Mission Complete.

Built this one with all the bells & whistles.

The dealer will be transferring my A.R.E. CX Revo bed cap

from my current rig to this one.

Looks remarkably familiar for some reason.

Delivery date to be determined.

Expected to be in the August / September time frame.

Now I have something else to 'wait' for.

Like I don't have enough of those deals going already.

Got one of my all-time favorite emails from GMC this morning.

A-Jay, c‍ongratulations. Your 2026 GMC Sierra order has been received by your dealer and confirmed for production. Every meticulously crafted detail of your new vehicle will come to life so you can chart your next adventures.

GMC will send status updates as new information becomes available. This way, you can actively follow your Sierra’s journey to your driveway.

Vehicle Model: 2026 GMC Sierra AT4 Menderchuck Edition

Interior Trim: PERFORATED LEATHER-FRONT SEATING - JET BLACK WITH KALAHARI ACCENTS

Exterior Color: ONYX BLACK

Order Number: 8675309

More to follow.

It would be really killer if this rig showed up early and I could slide out of the old lease

and right into this one.

#wishful thinking.

Nice ride!

With your increased towing capacity you’re going to be getting a bigger boat right? 😆

Definitely like the GMC’s.

When it comes to purchasing vehicles I like the look, first and foremost. If you told me you had a great deal on a vehicle and it had 1,000 miles per gallon but looked terrible, I’m passing. I don’t care. I have plenty of patience for the right one.

My hard earned money will be going towards something I will enjoy and be proud of.

This must of been a super exciting experience for you AJ. I’ve never special ordered a vehicle before.

Congratulations again!!!

Not a bigger boat but maybe TW can help me increase the tackle payload ?

Thanks, it is exciting, even if this is the 3rd or 4th one I've ordered. The process is really easy especially if the dealership sales staff has their act together and is willing to actually work with and please the customer. I love sitting down, going through all the packages and options. End result, no surprise upon delivery. I get what I paid for and smile the whole time.

Lastly, it's no secret the new rig prices are pretty high. But going for the last of the 2026 models before the 2027's is helping. Next version of this rig will be different and even more $$$$.

I finally drove a big GMC somewhat recently. It was the Yukon Denali, so a little different package, but same engine as yours so prosumably the same transmission and electronics package. It was very nice for sure. I've said for the last 6 years that if I went to anything but another Ram limited that's the first place I'd look.

Before the advent of the AT4, I drove 4 Denali pickups and one Yukon Denali XL.

3 years each .

Denali is nice.

Yukon is not my style; plus, it made all my dogs sick (#puke).

I'm on my second AT4 and it's a totally different ride.

Softer, especially on anything other than pavement.

I'd never go back.

Good Luck with the Dodge.

Just got the Email from GM, my new AT4 build has been completed.

It's been shipped from the factory and is headed to its destination (my local dealer).

Before I know it, I'll be hitting the road with power, ruggedness, and performance. (again).

This is happening way ahead of any schedule either the dealer or I anticipated.

Not complaining.

As of yesterday, my new rig is at the local GMC Dealership.

There's a decent list of dealer installer options / accessories.

So that will keep them busy for a few days.

Looking at taking delivery at the end of next week.

Can't wait !

That seems unbelievably quick which is always a good thing.

How long did it usually take with past trucks?

Hard to say what an average order-to-build-to-delivery time frame might be.

Either way, that did seem pretty quick. Figures—because speed wasn't part of 'the plan.'

But what it did for me was reset my lease turn-in date.

My lease wasn't up until 01 November—

Picking this one up now with a full 36 month lease,

I'll be doing this next time in May 2029.

Hope it doesn't snow.

I am pretty pumped about this one.

The 2024 Sierra AT4 goes to the dealer tomorrow for trade it.

Detailed the motor Monday.

Detailed the interior Tuesday.

Once the sun gets a little lower, I'll do the wheels and the exterior today.

Be the final time cleaning this one up.

And come Friday afternoon, I'll begin my life with the the 2026 model.

Good Times.

I must say, this one didn't need much in the way of detailing.

large.AT4CleanMay24br.jpg

But I'll do it anyway.

Especially since GMC is paying off the lease for me—several months early.

Someone's making some money, and it isn't really me.

I said goodbye to the 2024 Sierra AT4 today and dropped it off at the dealer.

Checked out my new 2026 rig and it's a Beast -

They'll be installing the BedRug today as well as transferring my ARE Revo CX cap onto the new truck.

Picking it up tomorrow morning - very exciting.

Which reminds me - I need to transfer my vehicle insurance -

Someone is going to get a really nice slightly used pickup in the future. We all know how well you maintain your truck (and boat).

I liked the 2024 unit, but after crossing my fingers for a year or so hoping that I wouldn't be part of the recall,

it didn't hurt my feelings too bad to see it go.

But that's all in the past, and I love it when a plan comes together.

Other than the 'blacked out' vehicle emblem package,

on the outside this one looks a lot like the last two.

However, it's under the hood where the biggest difference lies.

The performance Cat Back, active & tuned exhaust combined with the upgraded performance air intake gives me a few more ponies to play with should the need arise.

Sounds good too.

Looking forward to dropping the Pro-V Bass on the Rapid Hitch just to see how that goes.
