New from Louisiana

I've been a long time reader of this forum, so I decided to join.  Figured I've gotten lots of good info here for a while, so I wanted to contribute.

I fish mostly for bream and bass, with occasional catfishing.

Since you can tell a lot about a fisherman from the equipment he uses, here's my arsenal: Abu Garcia rods and reels, Berkley big game or Sensation mono, sufix ProMix braid, Pelican kayaks, and I'm a Berkley PowerBait soft plastics fanatic.

I primarily use finesse techniques for bass, utilizing soft plastics because I find it more entertaining/relaxing.  For bass, I'm not out to catch a ton.  If I'm bass fishing, I'm just enjoying myself and relaxing.

If I want fish to eat, it's almost always bream.  I tend to catch and release bass unless they're gill or eye hooked.

Tight lines everyone!!

Welcome back, Crash.

Where in Louisiana do you live and what bodies of water do you like to fish the most?

I am from New Orleans and am an LSU alumni. I used to fish both salt and freshwater when growing up, mainly in the Biloxi marsh on weekends and during the week would hit the Audubon Park lagoon after school.

Looking forward to reading your posts and enjoying your Louisiana stories. Glad you decided to return to the Forum.

Great! Keep those rods and reels in your vehicle at all times.

Moving to Chattanooga in next 2 weeks.  Moving from Covington where I primarily fish redfish and speckled trout in the marsh and bayous.  Looking forward to leaning to fish the local area and meeting some some of you.

Sorry I didn't reply to any of you guys, it was telling me that I had reached the maximum number of posts for a day and I couldn't reply to anything. However, thanks for the warm welcome

Welcome from another south Louisiana angler.

PS: don't tell anyone about Sherburne, it will be our secret ?

I only go there to catch nice sized bluegill.

The bass fishing tends to be just okay.  Biggest I've caught there was 2.84 lbs
