I know that this rod has been discussed before, but I would like a fresh opinion. I need two good rods but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money. I don't tournament fish at all but I don't want a piece of junk rod, does anyone recommend this rod? I was gonna get two 7ft med heavy rods, one for moving baits and one for texas rigged plastics. So is it worth the money? Thanks guys!!

I've been running a 7' Aird-X MH/F as my moving baits rod for a couple years now. With braid, I can feel the vibration of a chatterbait as it moves through the water.

 

I would look up a bit for a T-Rig...or any bottom contact...rod. I have a Fury 704C for that application.

One of, if not the best rod in that price range I've ever fished. I have one I use for buzzbaits and I bought one for my oldest son that I use fairly often also that is a 6' spinning rod, both are very nice rods. 

I have the 7' MH and 7' H.  I like them.  However, I feel like the MH & H are on the M side MH and MH side of H.  Just my $0.02.  

I have no experience with aird rods but I hear for the money they are about as good as your going to get. The Ark catalyzer might be another option for around $40.00 on sale. 

However if I was looking for new budget rods I can almost guarantee they would be Falcon Bucco's from sportsmans outfitters. Even buying used your going to be hard pressed to find a better rod for $70.00. You can do just about everything with a BRC-517 trap caster and a BRC-717 heavy lizard dragger.

The furthest thing from junk, and one of the best buys out there, period. Get the 7'3" MH and 7'H and you can cover a very wide range of baits with both. My brother and I have had 5 rods in this this series for the past 4 years. Zero glitches after a shiznit ton of fish.

This is a great find!  I own 2 Bucco's (spinning and casting) and love them. I've been struggling to find them at less than $100 (which is still a great deal). Looks like I'll have to pick up another one now.

 

I have both a Medium and Medium Heavy in the Daiwa Aird and also Abu Garcia Vengeance...

 

Both the Aird and Vengeance are great rods for the money. In general, I think the Aird is a tad more moderate and the Vengeance more between Fast and Extra Fast. 

 

Therefore, I use the Airds for moving lures, and the slightly more sensitive Vengeance for bottom contact, or lighter detection tactics. 

 

Great “value” rods?

I own(ed) one of these rods. I went on a fishing trip to Florida last February and I was flying down. Instead of traveling with a rod, I decided to order one of these and have it shipped down there. For the $55 it cost me, I figured I had nothing to lose for a rod for pond hopping a day or two while in Florida. All my rods I normally own are in the $200-500 range, for reference. 

 

I was absolutely shocked at the quality and feel of this rod. The finish and feel is on par with rods I've held in the $150-200 range. The rod balanced pretty well, had adequate sensitivity for Texas rigging, and plenty of backbone to set the hook. I couldn't recommend this rod enough if you're building a few setups on a budget.

I like the Aird-X better than the Fury straight up, might be because we bonded when I was down in Gulfport, and only had the one rod and caught everything from sunnies to redfish, either way both good no nonsense sticks.

I just recently picked up a fury 733c and interested to give it a whirl.  Think ill snag an AIRD X as well, since its only $40!  Do the AIRD X fish true to their power?

From my experience with a 7' H/F, 7' MH/F and two 6'6" M/F Aird-X rods...they're a little softer in the tip (more a MF-F than a true F) but the power seems accurate.
