One jig-head for Neds, tubes...

I plan on  pouring jig-heads and looking for a design that will work well for neds, tubes, small worms...  Suggestions?  Something similar to the Berkley Half-Head.

I am partial to the Midwest finesse mold.  If toy don’t like the keepers a bit of super glue gel and it sticks to anything.  I’ve used from #2 to #1/0 in mine.

I was looking at those but I would have to purchase a mold for each weight . I just found this one . It appears that it would work for lots of different finesse presentations. Have you used these? . https://www.jannsnetcraft.com/025724031833

That one will work but you can get the one with the wire keeper with multiple sizes also. I had that one but the lead collar rarely came out right. 

 

1 each of 1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16 & 1/4

I didn’t pay enough attention to the link.  The regular mold has several cavities from 1/16 to 1/4 oz.  Sorry about the link.

Have you tried then with tubes and other applications?

Yes, they're a good jighead for a lot of uses.

The hook eye isn’t tall enough to go through a tube

It is, I've used it on many occasions. The biggest issue is the worm nose mold fits mostly 1/0 or smaller hooks, so you don't have enough hook gap on most tubes except for small 2.5-3 inch tubes that are fairly thin. I don't fish tubes on a jighead that are bigger than that hardly ever though, so they work for what I need them to do. 

 

That said, they're not my first choice for a tube head, I use one of the actual tube head molds, but they'll work just fine in a pinch.

That may be the way I end up going . The half heads fit the baits a little snugger but I desire a little larger hook than the Ned heads I have used. I save my used Dingers for Neds and they dont leave much gap for the hook. I have lots and lots of lead to use up.

Thats my go to ned style. Stock the hook eye doesnt really stick out far enough for tubes. However…. You can always modify it by dremeling the hook slot and using larger 3/0-4/0 hook with a longer eye shank. 
 

now that i thing about it im going to have to try it. I did this with my walleye jig mold not anticipating how much farther the eye would stick out. Not really what i want for that mold but could be a tube thing.

I’ve had issues with collar as well but what it comes down to for me is having good clean lead with a good flow. It clogs before it can fill the barbs otherwise.
