How often do you change out your fluoro line?

Once a year - just like my mono.

I fish it until the memory starts to become an issue, which is probably about 1 every 8 months or so depending on how much use and what kind of FC is on it.  For certain outfits, like ones for JBs ill put new line on in November right before the fall JB bite really picks up here.

About every year or so when it gets low on each of the 6 combos I use the most, which all have it.

And it’s not because of unexplained break offs or constant knot failures

I use backer so I don't waste a bunch of premium line. I only change it out when it gets low enough to need changing. I don't think I've ever just stripped off good line because I thought it needed changing because it had been on a reel too long.

About every 3 years, as long as it doesn’t get low on the spool before that. I’ve had some spools go 4 years. It holds up much better than mono.

I change mine several times a month....... leaders dwindle away.

I know you were referring to full spool.

After several insane birdnests later and my line is all kinked, ready to break. I mainly use a backer as I'm not trying to burn through all my flouro. If I'm not birdnesting, I'll give it a year. I'll also use some line conditioner.

I changed mine out a few years ago and replaced it with mono and braid.  Only FC leaders now, using premium fly tippet.

i bird nest enough...just enough to keep my spools fresh.

its a process for me.  but it works.  i do have a couple reels that are magical, and i think the line is due for a change.  2 years.?

You must not like catching the bottom as much as I do

I always change it when I run out, I stay stuck on the bottom haha. I use backing so I don’t go through the more expensive stuff too quickly

I back my reels and depending on the line, I change it once a year and with Tatsu I have gone up to 4 years, only changing it because it got low. I fish around a ton of rocks and structure so having good FC is almost a must.

I only spool 75-100 yd top shots of fluoro, but don’t lose too much stuff, and not a bait changer, so few reties. I fish ponds and older reservoirs where a lot of the cover is gone. A little riprap, and some treefalls, but otherwise….I throw a lot of spinning gear, too.

I use leader but I change it almost every time I go fishing.
