I can't keep track of who bought where, but I ordered from Bass Pro, and my latest date range is June 16-26.  Since Cabela's and Bass Pro are owned by the same company now, I am guessing we are all in the same boat (no pun intended).  This is crazy.  I ordered it May 3rd.  Their emails say the order will be canceled after 60 days, but they told me on the phone they won't cancel it.  If they do, I'll be ticked, because then I will have to reorder and be at the  back of the line again.

I ordered from bass pro also.

Ordered mine May 10th, I agree. This is ridiculous, especially for us cabela guys... been in the dark since the end of may about the status of my boat. No emails or anything.

Just called cabelas, after a 30 minute wait I was put on the line with a very strange speaking individual named "tony" who almost sounded like a robot, the robot basically told me that cabelas hasn't gotten any word from Pelican about the restock date which is BS and then I was cutt off from the call, almost done deliberately, also what I was told is BS because others on this thread have called Cabelas customer service and they were told different things.

If my boat ever comes. It will be the last thing I'll ever buy from these people, horrible customer service, Bass Pro should just sell off cabelas and use the money to expand their brand.

Let's be honest here did Cabelas basically tell me to go _______ myself?

Hey Born 2 Fish, about an hour after my last post complaining, I got an email from Bass Pro that my boat shipped.  Hopefully yours is about to ship also, and maybe the Cabelas guys also, I hope.

That’s awesome your boat shipped hopefully mine will

be here soon.

lol....I just bought mine last night from basspro with a date of june 16-29th or something and they literally just sent me an email saying its been delayed and the whole 60day cancellation thing.

Is something like this a must have with a trolling motor and these little boats?

I would kill to be in your shoes you have no idea, I would be able to sleep easy knowing after a long wait my boat is on its way lmao

With the motor in the front, yes.  What happens without it is the back swings too far as you maneuver; you stop the trolling motor and the back still keeps swinging around.  With the rudder, the resistance it creates when you turn stops the back of the boat when you stop the motor.

It sounds like a pain, but it really makes a positive difference.

@OCdockskipper Neat. What's the benefit of having the motor in the front?

Control.  You are able to put the boat exactly where you want.  It also allows you to fish from the front, putting you 5 to 10 feet closer to the target as well as keeping the boat further away from the target.

Decades ago, one of the first guys who put an electric motor on the front said he did it because "it is easier to pull a chain than push it".

When did you originally order your boat?

Should I order from bass pro instead? I feel like they have better customer service than cabelas.

LISTEN UP CABELA GUYS: BACKORDER DATE IS THE 18TH. JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF YOU ORDERED BEFORE THE OUT OF STOCK DATE 90% CHANCE YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR BOAT....

BASS PRO GUYS I ALSO ASKED, IF YOU ORDERED AFTER JUNE 15TH THEY ARE NOW SOLD OUT.. YOUR ORDER WILL BE EITHER DELAYED OR CANCELED...

I ordered from bass pro May 24 th.

You're gonna get your boat, read the post I made above I spoke to cabelas customer service today and also asked about Bass Pro since they're the same company.

My order date was May 3.  Although they said it shipped, there is no tracking info available, so hopefully it really is on the way, who knows.

Tracking info comes usually 24 hours after shipping. I ordered some baits from bass pro and the same thing happened. Keep us posted!

@TriStateBassin106 OK see that's very strange because I also JUST got off the phone with Cabela's customer service and they told me the new date was June 22nd (for the boats to arrive in their warehouse)

I think this is Cabelas version of pushing the date back. Or the different dates might be for the specific boat and time we individually ordered it, I don't know if I ordered mine before you but that might be how it works, this whole situation is very confusing and I'm honestly getting annoyed at being told different things by these people on the phone and emails, first it was June 2nd, then the 15th, now the 18th I was told this morning and now you got told the 22nd...

What could he happening and I was told this on the phone today is that Pelican is filling out the backorderes from certain time periods, maybe the people who were first to order theirs got the boats shipped to them on the 2nd, then Pelican got the next batch in on the 15th. Now the 18th and 22nd might be more batches of boats, I was also told that since the country is reopening the batches are coming in quicker and the boats weren't essential.

I know this might sound crazy but it could be how they're doing this.
