Which Kastking braid is most like regular PowerPro? Thinking of trying some and need to spool up a couple 3500 spinning reels. 

I would try the new Hammer Braid.

KastPro. Made in USA as well.

I don't get what people see in regular power pro. At one point it was the best but those days were 20 years ago. There are so many superior choices it's not funny.power pro V2 is one of them.

Fins Spin5 is excellent quite round color fast braid for spinning reels made in the USA.

@dodgeguy v2 is so good. All my finesse rigs get spooled with it. 

 

Why get another brand that’s like power pro instead of just getting power pro? 

I agree, if you like power pro just use power pro.

It's cheap and fairly reliable

I started bass fishing about 15 years ago and put Power Pro braid 25lbs line on my casting rods.

 

I still have the exact same line on my rods going strong. I've never changed it.

 

I fish for bass in some pretty weedy, tough, and lily pad areas too.

KastKing does not make braid.  They buy from a manufacturer,  put their name on it,  and mark up the price.   There is no guarantee they will use the same manufacturer in the future if you like a line and want to buy more.  Why not buy straight from the manufacturer so you will know who made your line and you won’t have to pay the KastKing markup?  
 

I only use Fins Braid.   They make premium braid for many brands.  They have many options to choose from.  It’s all made in Kentucky.

Lol, pretty sure the question is about price point. Almost all braid is Dyneema or Spectra, and over engineered. I generally just use the brands that feel "right" to me and perform as expected without a care in the world where they're made or who made them. Farm to table braid isn't necessary. 
 

Sorry OP, I can't really say what KK braid is closest because they stopped making the braid I liked. I do see the irony here.  Still using out of date PP and Smackdown with no issues or complaints.

It still works but there are others that are far superior and don't fade .Vicious no Fade Braid is one of them.

Why does fading matter?

 

@tcbass I could care less if it fades. I’ve run just about every color but the gaudy colors too. Green, brown, white, blue, camo. 
 

get what kind you think is best for what you do. What feels good to you. Eventually I am going to switch everthing over to cortland. Right now I run 832 with no complaints I just like cortland better.

I do like the Power Pro in hi-vis yellow so that I can watch my line move when using Senkos.

@tcbass  cortland masterbraid. It’s very easy to tie knots with. Casts great. Soft. The strength is awesome.  Again all my opinion. I run it on my musky stuff. To cheap to run it on my bass stuff.

What does too cheap to run in on your bass stuff mean?


It's pretty expensive?

@tcbass I  do not want to spend the extra money to buy the cortland masterbraid. It costs slightly more than suffix 832.

Anyone that I know that has used Master Braid swears by the stuff. It'll be 2060 before I run out of braid, so I guess I'm good without it.

I hate faded braid. Also you don't have to color it with a marker. If you use high vis and it fades it's not as visible 6 before it faded.

Always wash your Levi's inside out with cold water.
