Steez SV TW100….

Yes sir daddy-o, I'm in for one.

I got the OG Steez, my prized fishing possession knock on wood, it makes me as happy today fishing with it as it did in 07.

I'm sure it won't be twice the reel a 21 Zillion SV TW is, but fishing a Steez makes you feel special, there I said it 😆

As a Daiwa fanboy, I really wish they come up with better marketing terms. First "hyper...," now "ultimate..." Next what, "infinity...?" It's already taken.

I was hoping they could make it more narrow.  Looks maybe a little skinnier, but I'd need to hold it.

Nice thing about SV brake system, it allows versatile aftermarket spools.

'23 Air TW BFS has the new smaller SS MagForce brake - will be interesting to see whether it shows up on the next version of Steez CT or Steez Air.

That is one sexy looking reel…I’m definitely going to be looking into. I just am not a fan of the choked off feel of Daiwa’s. Now if they casted like a Shimano it would be game over

I use to feel that about their reels as well, especially with the Steez A. But the SV TW and each Steez (including the new Zillions) afterwards, have been fantastic.  There are exceptions and production duds I'm sure but overall I have been pleased with the Daiwas I have. With the A II and the Zillion SV TW, they cast so well I have to be careful or I will end up in a tree or on the bank.

There are two reels based on what I wanted to use them for that I wish I would have bought Shimanos..... the Millionaire CT and the Silver Wolf. I wanted to throw some mid sized BFS baits on these, even though they are capable,  the new Shimano Calcutta BFS and the Aldebaren BFS have handled that type of fishing way better.

I keep salivating over the images and video…I’m  SOLD. Not on Digitaka yet 😔

Bass season doesn’t start for me until June so I have lots of time to get an expensive fidget spinner :)

Our season in IL is winding down….between now and April I buy rods and reels like a fat kid in a Twinkie factory

IMHO this is the best looking reel. Looks like Daiwa got ride of the zero adjuster.

The replaced it the ULTIMATECASTING ZERO ADJUST

Looks like the knob is even more recessed, making even harder to adjust it, if you needed too.

Since spooling up new 21 Zillion SV TW and 22 Zillion HD TW reels more than a year ago, I can honestly say I've never touched the Zero Adjust dial.

I think it's a fantastic design change to make the dial more out of the way and less prone to accidental adjustments.

They might have some really stupid sounding marketing names, but the refinement and tech are very much real in my usage.

Any time you change spools, you should always begin by opening the zero adjust knob.

This protects the palm plate latch from closing damage, accounting for differences in spool spindle width.

Reset for incipient spool side play.

Is this correct that there's no spool tension at all?

Interesting and good catch.  I missed it when I looked over the link above.

It's been 3 years ago, maybe, around the time the Tatula Elite came out, I asked a Daiwa rep about the zero adjuster and he said don't touch it. If its not in the right place it could cause some damage to the spool or brake system. He then hinted at a fixed adjuster.  I, of course,  blew all this off and have been making small adjustments since without issue. I wonder what damage it would cause to the reel if it was way out of adjustment? Is the new fixed zero adjuster a response to issues caused by the old one being turned?

@FishTank

The worst damage you could do is what I described in my post above.

But this is something you need to do when you swap spools, and a good idea any time you're removing the palm plate.

That said, I have no idea how they will regulate overall spool shim width on new Steez - would have to tinker with one.

Found some pics of the reel outside to show a more accurate color representation.

I am in love! Looks super clean. I wonder how well that finish might hold up in gloss? I almost wished it was just a flat black but either way, I’m super impressed. Can’t wait to get my hands on one!!! Any idea on release date??
