If you buy the lifetime fishing license here, you can buy what they actually call a 'privilege package' that includes the second rod validation. This means that you can fish with a second rod at the same time as your original. For example, if you were anchored in one spot fishing for catfish, you could have two of your rods with the line out instead of one.

Thankyou, first I've heard of that.  Where I am, extra rods are allowed on the lake, but more than one on the river may get you free room and board in an Arkansas 1 star lockup hotel.

  • I purchased my Lifetime Fishing Permit in my early 20's, the small investment when I was young has already paid for its self. I never have to buy one in Nebraska again, it is always in my tackle bag.

Do you have a PhD?  Then you can figure out what you owe Illinois.  I go to Walmart, they look up my past license, I pay them whatever.  I think it was $15 last year.

Haven't bought my 2024 license yet. Ours are good for 12 months so I'll wait until the night before my next trip to buy one.

How much are you paying for a 2024 fishing license? Here in California the basic license is $61.82 and is good for one year from date of purchase

I paid $501.50 for my fishing license this year in FL. Thankfully, it's good for the next 200 years. :)

I should be so lucky. Couldn't pass up the 50% off lifetime license our FWC was running, my typical yearly license for fresh/salt is ~55 bucks, so I'm fishing for free in 10 years.

Yep, I don't have to buy one anymore, I do have to remember where I put it last fall...

Bought a sr. life time license last year for something like $23. Our sr. license is 64 years old and up. An annual sr. license is $3.
