Another "new" worm for 2024 is Mr Twister’s Mag Buzz Worm 8".

Gambler....Culprit....Zoom......junebug...red shad..black blue......green pumpkin....also a worm a local makes that are almost clear in color,has some green and red glitter in it. he calls it "critter" works great in clear water.

Zoom Trick and Finesse worms, Berkley Power Worms, Bass Pro Fin Eke Tournament Series worms and Mann's 12" Jelly Worm. Use Trick worm for floating worm presentations, too.

 

Colors: Green Pumpkin, Watermelon/Red Flake, June Bug, Black and Red Shad. Floating: Bubble Gum, Yellow, White, Red, Green.

 

Good Fishing 

 

Hag's Tornado - 5-8" various colors, but the 8" storm chaser is my current fave

Netbait T-mac - junebug, black/grape, ky special

Xcite Maximus - okeechobee craw, candy bug, red bug

Gambler Burner worm - backatchya, gold rush

Zoom Ol Monster - GP, 420, red shad

 

 

Those are my current first choice worms.  TW had various missle baits quiver worms marked down to $2, and I like that tail style as a finesse jig trailer/goby imitator, but I'm also going to see if there's a place for me as a finesse shakeyhead/free rig option.

We have so many color choices now. When I first got into bass fishing, I had an older much more experienced angler tell me about the color purple. Purple has been the best color for me over the years. It's worked in clear and stained water.                                    Roboworm has some really good purple shades, but they all can be good.

If I’m not Wacky Rigging ,Rage cutter green pumpkin or Culprit tequila Shad t rigged . 2 great baits 

My go-to is the 3” slim senko in all the different versions of watermelon and green pumpkin (I know  …  pretty boring).

Looking forward to finesse Fishing the 13 Fishing Ultra Thin Joy Stick worm.  $1 at the discount store and I bought lots of them. 

Also gonna fish the Craw Worm (more of a craw but has the name worm) from Big Bite Baits more…caught one of my biggest largies to date on one and got away from them. 
 

Bought some Berkley Powerbait Fatty Bottom Hoppers on sale…cut them down for neds or Texas rig ‘em should work

 

Gonna try a chartreuse disk worm in the spring 

 

Never used the floating worm technique much…will try that in the spring

It was in super clear water up in a mountain lake when I was on vacation. I've tried it numerous times since in my muddy water ponds down south and never a bite. My best color down here is straight black- I've tried a black blue and a black with blue flake worm with nary a bite. Funny how fish are so picky depending on location. 

 

 I've always assumed that since black works well in my stained water, purple and other variations of black would be similar. Not with my finicky bass.

Purple(s) handily outfish Green Pumpkin in the areas I fish locally.

 

And it's not close.

Most of the time, I use Zoom trick worms. I have the most success with bright colors like limetruese, chartreuse, white, or metholate. 
But will use natural colors like green pumpkin or watermelon if that’s what the fish wants. 

I have many worm varieties.. Zoom trick worm in June bug or  black never leave my kayak, along with a few sizes of spot remover shaky head. 

 

I'll be experimenting with others this year with different presentations, but the above is my #1 confidence bait.

Bright tails on dark worms  invite panfish to nibble. I dont use them .
