Guys, I'm looking for a new crankbait line.  I've used Trilene XL for years and it just doesn't hold up to heavy duty cranking.  Recommendations?  Thanks!

I use Excel green line and have for a long time. I use 14 lb test around heavy cover and 10-12 for most other areas. I have had less issues with this line and I don't have an issue with casting distance or abrasion problems. The green line is more thin than the clear. If I want more depth I drop down to 8 lb.

P-Line Floroclear, 10-12# mid depth crankin, 15# for shallow cover crankin, Gamma Edge floro 8# for deepr than 12 feet.

I'm with Chris.  I use Excel clear, 10-12 lb.  P-line is good, but I've tried everything and I think the best VALUE for the quality is Excel.

Sunline Defier is a very good all-round line. Very smooth and good casting distance.

Unfortunately it is expensive.

I've found that flourocarbon lines are better for cranking for the simple reason that they sink faster.  A flouro line will allow you bait to reach you desired depth faster and stay there longer.  Alot of times especially when using mono line for deep cranking your bait never really reaches the lower limits of your baits depth.

I reallt like yo-zuri hybrid in 10lb test.

I use Pline CXX for all my cranking.  I use the 8lb for smaller balsa and plastic baits, usually in the 1/4 to 3/16oz range.  Examples would be the WEC/Zoom Sweet Pea, Norman Deep Tiny N, Bagley Honey B, etc.  For your average sized medium runners up to larger deeper runners in the DD22/DT16 size; I use 10lb CXX.  I use 10lb CXX for most all my open water cranking needs.  I use 12lb CXX for smaller shallow runners like the Bandit 100 and BDS 1, and go up to 15lb CXX for BDS 2's and 3's, and Bagley B2's.

I use 10 lb Big Game for all my crankin'.

10-30lb test, i use 8lb test on pond, and lakes. For pike i go higher to 20lb.

McCoy Mean Green is a local favorite in WA for Cranking, I like it for everything.
