Make sure to post up how it throws weightless senkos please! I was thinking the 7’3 mh would be perfect for a weightless 5” senko rig. Now you can be the guinea pig! 😂

I have the 7' 3" H/F. I fished a weightless Senko on it a lot last weekend and had no issues launching it. I had to do it to get the bait behind the grass lines and then needed the heavy rod to drag them back through all the grass.

Wow! Thank you for the input. Do you have any other models? I’m really thinking the 7’5mh would be a great spinnerbait/bladed jig rod. I’d love to hear opinions on that model in particular.

Nobody has the 7’5 MH? 🥺

Still hoping to hear some thoughts on the 7’5 MH. I’d like to use it for chatterbaits/spinnerbaits.

I don’t wanna be the guinea pig. 😆

Someone said to order from tackle warehouse and leave the plastic on the cork. If you don’t like it, return it. If you like it, keep it. I just feel like it’s wrong to do that, but I am considering it since I can’t find any info on the 7’5MH.

I get it.   But it has to start somewhere instead of expecting everyone else to test the rod for you.   Doesn’t seem like it’s a popular model to get the reply you’re expecting.    I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just FYI, on TW they have the lure rating for that rod maxed out at 1/2 oz, which seems low for a MH/F rod. I went to Okuma's website and it says 3/4 oz, which makes more sense.

If you feel funny fishing with the rod/sending it back, then just order it to get it in your hands. Give it a few bend tests. Maybe cast a lure in your yard without taking the tags/plastic off and see how that feels.

Either way you're gonna be impressed by the fit and finish of these rods. And with how crazy light they are. And when fished, you'll see how crisp/sensitive they are. They really are a joy to fish with.

Even if you don't go with that 7'5/rod for bladed jigs, if you're in need of a jig/Texas rig/all-around rod, I'd definitely advise checking out the 7'3 MH/XF.

I’ve spoken with a rep at Okuma and he stated the correct rating is 1/4-3/4oz. Tackle warehouse has it listed wrong. Like you said, the Okuma site lists the correct weight range.

The rep I spoke too said he loves the 7’5mh for chatterbaits/spinnerbaits so I’m sure it will be great. I just wanted a second opinion.

I wish I could find a local retailer that has them stocked so I could feel it in hand first. I’ll probably just buy it from TW and try it in the backyard like you said.

Thanks.

We’ll see how tomorrow goes!

Rod was “meh” at best. A few weeks later, tile snapped off about 4 inches down using fluorocarbon, with a properly set drag, and not snagged. Was enough to kill my confidence. Back to Phenix for me.

Really? Interesting. What didn’t you like about the rod? How was the sensitivity? What would you compare it to sensitivity wise? Oh and what do you mean by “tile snapped off”?

Thanks!

I’m sure he meant tip

Ah, ok. So what didn’t you like about it? How was the sensitivity compared to other rods?

Rods are unique to each angler for me and the application. Action felt similar to an NRX+873 CRR. Sensitivity is so subjective so I would suggest just buying one and decide for yourself.

Ok. I was just trying to get an understanding of what you didn’t like about it. Thanks.

Hope it’s ok, I’m bumping this up.

Has anyone else gotten one of these rods? What are your thoughts?

And to the people who already had one, have your opinions changed?

Couldn’t have said it better myself…. Again.    LoL

Seriously though, I just used it 3 days ago and caught over 20 smallies.  It performed flawlessly, even on the big girls.  I love how light and sensitive it is.
