Dave acting like us NC boys from the mountains should know what's going on down there on the coast. 😂 Albemarle might as well be in Egypt. I live in the same town Jake Whitaker is from and it's 7.5 hours from where I'm at.🤦‍♂️

Book a vacation next year early April and go where Kyle went and flip around a Bronco Bug. You might have to fight off a few other boaters while you are at it though. His results have been wild, I know his home water is a river but not tidal.

  • It is TOUGH listening to Powroznik's live coverage. Dude sounds like Darth Vader. Might be time to lay off the twinkies and go for a run once in a while, man.

Yep - It always amazes me how consistently better fishing for bigger bass is in NC versus here in SC. Seems like us and GA kind of got left behind in that regard, while surrounding states continue to kick out quality.

To me, Lake Murray and Santee Cooper are easily in the top 10 best LM lakes in the country, and then you have Hartwell which is an incredible Spotted Bass fishery.

Congrats to Kyle, couldn't happen to a nicer guy full of class and talent.    This will go down as the most dominant win in Elite Series history.

I will say I can't help feeling bad over seeing so many 6-10lb spawning females get boxed up, bounced around in livewells for hours in incredibly rough water, and ultimately weighed several times due to Big Bass weighing.    If nothing else it would be great to see BASS go to a Catch/Weigh/Release format when visiting places that the spawn is going on.   The recent Auburn University study made me all the more aware of the fact that delay mortality of big females is especially bad.

CWR is the way to go.

My wife is from Virginia Beach. We have family there. All of a sudden I feel the urge to visit the inlaws for some strange reason...😂

That river and the sound are hardly tidal. The outer banks mitigates that. There really isn't enough movement for it to be a real factor.

Cool, I am not familiar with the sound at all. I remember thinking back to back 30's were unlikely after day 1. The other guys are lucky to get 20. Now 3 in a row, I would love to see him get another 30. His first win will feel great.

Will the other 9 anglers left let him do his thing or will someone come close, he seems to have been fishing by himself.

At this point, I think he has earned the space. I think he'll be respected.

I hope he goes all out tomorrow.

Seeing him break records in NC would make me and Jake and @FishTax smile really big while we are catching bass for FT's birthday tomorrow on a small NC lake 🤫😎🎣🎂

You are an NC guy so great to hear you are proud and not just saying stay away.

Scott Martin showed the world what panorama could do on bedding fish and shocked the fishing world and blew out some records.

That was in a BASS Open though, Kyle is doing this in an Elite on Live for 3 days......this was the moment in a decade that people will refer to as the Lake Fork scoping/jerkbaits in the trees for Patty Walters livescope moment.   If people have a scope, they'll no longer physically look at them anymore.    It's way easier to catch them on FFS, and not for the reason most people think.   The reason it's vastly better vs. eyeballs is because fish never know you're there.   When trying to sight fish, the fish always in part knows you're there.

This has been a huge secret to the success of a bunch of guides on OH Ivie, and a few have mastered it way beyond any pro angler.      Serious Angler podcast recent episode had some juice in it about this unique topic for anyone interested.

Yeah I've ALWAYS been positive it's just gonna be used to catch fish off deeper beds.  Fish basically don't bite lures assuming it's food very often - much more often it's just in there territory and making them mad and their territory is just basically somewhere around their bed.

I've always assumed the stigma against bed fishing is a convenient one for tournament anglers and guides alike - it's pretty much the only thing that they can do that's a secret trick average anglers might not have tried on any given body of water.

Don't get me wrong plenty of people sight fish - but those are the ones - as ASH pointed out that basically never bite and are aware of you.

I've been using the bronco bug since it came out. One of my favorite baits. I figured I'd go stock up last night before they wouldn't be available for the next 6 months. This was all they had. Now they don't have any. lol

How bout McKinney seeing a bear up in a tree yesterday? I read on the internet that you wouldn’t be able to see that if you were “staring down at a screen all day”

Feider saw a turkey and a deer moments later

I don’t ever remember such a blowout as this tournament.. guy used skill along with a fair amount of luck. That area is just constantly reloading with an unbelievable amount of fish. Maybe in the past 30 years of following this sport it’s happened but I can’t remember anything like it..

Watch. MLF will be here next year 😂

Well if they're out of stock just fish, I don't know, perhaps the DoLive Beaver ;)

I have plenty between whats hanging in the garage and the boat. I use them alot and was trying to augment my stock because I know they are gonna be gone off the shelves for a bit with Kyle's win and I don't do much shopping online.

MLF was actually just there last year, little different playing field, but BASS guys could have fished the Chowan if they wanted this year.    They went to the Chowan River and Drew Gill won it.  2024 Bass Pro Tour U.S. Air Force Stage 5 - Chowan River Presented by WIX Filters - Major League Fishing

I doubt we'll ever see a beat down like this again, I mean Kyle almost lapped the field.    I didn't think it was possible for somebody to win by 45lbs lol.   It's just mind boggling.

BASS really needed that event, and to their credit they listened to fans and reduced the amount of commercials and focused more on fishing.
