Selling my tackle

Featured Replies

I need ideas no how to sell all my fishing stuff in on shot if that's possible. I know it would have to be local I'm just concerned on the safety of having a stranger in my home

Post it online. There is a flea market section here but if you want to keep it local, post it on marketplace or Craig’s list.

I had a garage sale last year and had a bunch of fishing equipment for sale. If you want it gone in one shot, offer it for dirt cheap. I priced everything for $30 (hundreds of dollars worth). Guy offered me $25 and just like that I was rid of all my excess. If you aren’t looking to recoup any costs or fund something else specific, just price it to sell quick and it will.

If you don’t want to sell it at home see if your local police department has a seller’s section in there parking lot such as mine does. Other municipalities in my area have a dedicated room in their police station’s for transactions such as this which are loaded with 360 degree cameras.

I packaged up a bunch of lures, plastics, etc a few years ago and sold it as a one-price-for-everything to a high school fishing club. They got a good deal and it cleared out a storage area of my garage in one fell swoop.

Agreed, sell on any social media and set up meetings at local Police or Fire stations. That weeds out the unscrupulous quickly.

Ok, I’ll ask…

what are you selling??? Asking for a friend (who is a primate)

I'd be interested in talking about what you have and purchasing it all from you.

Suggest starting with BR Flea Market forum.

BR flea market would be my first choice.  If you don't want to go that route, there are auction sites you could use.  Around here they also used to have a couple of used tackle stores.

You might consider a flea market booth.  That way you don’t even have to interact with the buyers.  When we down sized our house my wife had way too much stuff to deal with so she rented a booth.  It worked out well for her.

I have found that donating to local charities or non-profits can bring me more in tax write off's than I could ever get by direct sales.

Most people don't itemize anymore so for the majority this won't help their taxes.

I just took all my unused rod and reels to work and gave them away. Smiles are payment enough for me. Had to clear out space in case Santa shows up this year!
