I'm begging for a new rod.

Featured Replies

I have a great setup this year. It feels complete. Still, my mind is begging for a new rod. I have no need for a new rod. I'm tossing around rods I want, as well as replacing the ones I own that don't absolutely blow me away. It's the baitmonkey.  And everytime my beautiful wife ticks me off (god I love her) the baitmonkey digs in a little harder. My needs are met and then some, and yet I'm dreaming of dropping $$$ on **** i don't need. Maybe what I need is help.

I’m not qualified to speak to this condition you’re suffering.

Good luck, I’m out.

for a second I thought I created a new account and made this post.   But it can’t be possible… can it!?!?

anyways I just recently got a 13 Fishing Widow Maker (they dropped the name and changed it to Myth) and I’m really impressed and happy with it that I got another Myth rod.    Didn’t break the bank and it fishes very well.

Same here.  Condition may lessen after reaching 75 years old.  Mine did.

you don't need a good travel rod? Daiwa just released some nice ones. what if you go on a trip and realize you're close to a pond?

I decided long ago that I was sticking to one brand.  I like the feel of them, the seats are great.  I now have almost every rod in their lineup.  There pretty much isn't a rod that they offer that will do much good for me.  I don't have any inclination of adding another brand into the mix (I did it once for a special purpose and won't do it again).  So you could say that I am rod satisfied.  Or, I could add a second of one or two of the models that I like a lot...

You can't type that all up and NOT mention the brand.  LOL

What brand are you talking about?    :)

Thanks

Sometimes I open my rod locker and stare into it for a while before shutting it in disgust and returning to the 4 rods I always use.

Other times I open it and stare into it thinking of all the gaps I have in my lineup and what I should pick up next.

Thanks.  I bet there are a few people on this board that know them better than I do even.  I know the ones I have though.

If it's just fishing gear, consider yourself fortunate. Brown Uniform Santa just dropped off my 15th guitar the other day. 12 amplifiers. I don't know how many rods, reels, or guns I have. 🤦‍♂️I have issues.

How about a custom made rod?

A good quality BFS rod and reel set up will renew your game plan and feed the monkey too.

I have many guitars, hifi and pro audio equipment, sound recording equipment including old and new microphones and compressors. I have problems too.

I wouldn’t worry about it my man, just part of getting better as an angler. I just got into bass fishing like this, but I’m really lovin’ it! I already have a lineup of 8 rods and I’m just a shore guy lol. I’ve got 5 casting rigs and 3 spinning, but man am I versatile

I have 5 guitars (one amp for the electric one) and can't play.  :(  BUT even if I could play, there's no way I could afford 15 plus amps.  Except for airguns, my other guns haven't been shot in over 30 years.  😭

Thanks for reminding me to pull out the airguns and do some shooting.  Nice thing about them is I don't need to find a gun range.

You don't need help, you need to start fishing custom glide baits.  Then you can buy new rods, to throw the new baits with.  When you can't find a rod that costs more than the next new bait you want, you are only a few dollars away from living the dream.
