Pet Peeves

Featured Replies

My 14 month old golden (78#s) likes to step on my foot and play tugs with whatever toy that is in his mouth. It hurts and i can never be barefoot.  Also, i get agitated when i see lose / loose, or gonna sale my boat, etc.. i know what you mean. It shouldn't affect me, but for that split -second ? Sorta like Gim/hair kind of thing . haha   I wonder how Katie feels about bad grammar or spelling...

Loose water bottles rolling around my truck while I’m driving. Or things rattling or vibrating while driving. Drives me up a wall.

Eye here ya......

People that park in handicapped spots that obviously are not handicapped when you see them walk into the store.

When people complain about lack of communication yet they never communicate themselves... Especially at work. Case in point my EHS lady is the worst I've ever seen....she's always tick$%& and moaning about people not communicating be it in Email form or shift reports yet you'd be more likely to get a response email or text from a dead person than her. Its pathetic.

This is going to be a good thread. I get a kick out of what bothers people.

As somebody with a fair amount of pet peeves, I agree.

more then once.

Left lane hogs.

Talking the talk, and not walking the walk.

Life is simple.  Say what you are going to do. Do what you say. When you don't, admit it.

Nuff said.

Folks giving up the right of way at an intersection, waving you through. I've come to just accept the free turn and go.

Braided line getting in the split rings.

Pet peeve?

Bad communications etiquette.

There are consequences for it......

Well, that is a touchy one for me. I have a handicap permit. I don't use it all the time, but on my bad days, I really need to use a handicap spot. To look at me or to watch me walk a short distance into a store, you would think I had no business parking in a handicap spot. But if you watched me for a while, you would notice that I could hardly breath, and that I have to use a handicap scooter to get around inside the store. My breathing has reached a point where I have just been approved for a free handicap scooter through my insurance. Like I said, it is not ALL days...some days I can function pretty well as long as I don't overdo it. My point is you should not be quick to judge. Just because someone does not look handicapped, does not mean that they are OK. Not all handicaps show..and some people like ne have good and bad days, so just because you saw me walk into and around a store today does not mean I can do that tomorrow.

Littering. Don't get me started........

I feel this in my bones.  Occasionally we get in my wife’s cars for a long trip and the first bump out of the driveway I hear a ‘clink’.  We have to stop and clear it before the next 5 hours.

Another biggie for me.  Driving in Europe a ton (lived there for 12 years) this is just not tolerated.  Lane discipline is a thing.  Sitting in the left lane of a 3 lane highway doing 60-65 in a 65-70 mph zone is a poor choice.

I get mad at people who park in the HP spots who DON’T have a badge or plate.  If you have a placard or plate, then so be it.  I don’t know your reasons for having it and don’t need to.  Like you said, not all handicaps show.  But if you don’t have a placard/plate then don’t be there.

Not using turn signals is a peeve for me.  The law says do it so you’re required to do so.  There is no downside for you in using them.  The indicator is right next to your finger- just use it.  The only reason not to is laziness.

Chewing with your mouth open and/or making noise while doing so.  I don’t mean crunching a crouton.  I mean that lip and tongue slapping/slurping that happens when you are opening your lips while also chewing.  I have a best friend that chews like that all the time.  My wife goes into it occasionally.  We always have ambiance music on for dinner (I’d never say a word to her about it).

After thinking about it, the biggest pet peeve I have is when folks throw cigarette butts in the water. I have a casual acquaintance from bank fishing that does that.

I'm not a fan of yard work. I'll scalp that lawn in June and if it's a dry summer, I won't have to mow again until September. 😂

You could just spray the whole thing with round up too.

If the intent is to avoid work, just eliminate the need for it.

I didn't say I wanted to get cancer while avoiding yard work.
