I was thinking the other day these stores are going to take a huge hit.

Japan Lure Shop is all I've ever used, huge fan.

It will be interesting if they do something similar.

Even paying an additional 7.5%, you still probably are saving money. Additional $30 on say a $400 order.

I wonder which one of us is brave enough to cross that bridge and make a purchase.  It will be interesting to hear how that experience goes.

I think I'm going to be holding off until things change.

LOL, same.

I told my wife I was going to buy "only" two combos this year and I ended up getting three. They weren't cheap either. Tack on a bunch of lures and I've spent a small fortune.

Now, if I can talk her into it. I'm more than willing to buy another combo. Make that two.  LOLOLOL

I want to upgrade my dedicated spinnerbait combo and I also want to get a nice BFS combo.

Most likely I'll start spending money again in May of 2026, right after tax season.    :)

At least it’s not the $80 per shipment it could have been. It still sucks, but it could be worse.

I don’t really expect things to change for the better. 😔

Today a federal appeals court ruled that many of the new tariffs imposed this year are illegal but the ruling won't take effect until mid-October to allow for appeals.  So now we have more uncertainty about what prices will be in the future.  I feel for anyone trying to run a business in this environment.

I just purchased SLP knobs from plat that cost 30.00, I was hit with a 33.00 charge from DHL. Which is ridiculous

$63 total? How did they calculate the extra $33?

 😱

The problem is going to be with the shippers wanting their cut, like the DHL mentioned above.

Most of us in the US are hit with 10% or more in sales taxes on anything we buy locally, so I’m not too upset by the actual 15% of value.

100%! It’s funny how prices rarely go back down.

It wouldn’t be bad if it actually was 15% of the actual value in my case, it was 100% that’s ridiculous

That’s where I see the real issue as being. FedEx, UPS and DHL have proven time and again that they cannot be trusted to get a package from San Diego to Arizona without losing it (according to UPS tracking, I think my worms are now orbiting Pluto), and now we are trusting them to not screw this up?

There is no regulation on this so the big three carriers UPS FedEx and DHL are going to charge what they want 100% markup on what should be 15% you’re getting screwed no more buying anything from Japan until they get rid of these tariffs

Very true. I placed an order with Tackle warehouse 7 days ago, usually it ships from Georgia but I ordered a couple swim baits in the 3.5 oz weight range and they shipped out of Cali. Pkg made it to Illinois and was to be delivered Friday but it was lost and sent to Texas. I assume it will show next Wednesday or Thursday..

While it’s a nice gesture what Digitaki is doing it’s not going to help here when these carriers can't get the proper tariff charge assessed. It’s just a cluster #%^* right now..

There are A LOT of mistakes happening right now. I’ve seen examples of customs entering the other countries currency as USD and it charging people a fortune.

Canadians have been getting hosed by UPS for years and years with brokerage fees. If I buy in the US, I typically want it shipped by FedEx or USPS as the "brokerage fees" are non existent or much, much less.

(Said in my Canadian accent)

”Sorry”

I just couldn’t help it!

Since to a federal judge, this is an illegal act. It is now in the courts in the process of litigation to reinstate this exemption which I’m hoping that’s the case cause these prices are not even reasonable during insane. Just to give example if you order a $20 item from Japan and they ship it to USPS they charge you $80.

It should only be 15% added for Japan. The tariffs remain in place through October 14th while the case gets appealed to the Supreme Court.

Now let’s get off politics or Glenn will lock this.
