In that case I wouldn’t necessarily get rid of anything or buy anything until you figure a few things out. Are you in a boat or shore bound? What type of bass and what type of lakes?

I have a boat with a newer Garmin with livescope and an older 7” Garmin at the console. I’m in the south and fish mostly Guntersville Lake but we also have a few highland type reservoirs that I fish a little. Guntersville has lots of grass but there’s other cover too like laydowns, docks, some rock/riprap et . Guntersville is mostly largemouth though there are some spots and a little bit of small mouth, though those aren’t that plentiful. The highland reservoirs are mostly spotted.

I really struggle lately just catching a fish. I went out with a guide last summer and caught a bunch. So I know I should be catching more than one here and there. I also recently did an electronics trip with the same guide but was a little disappointed. He covered crappie well but I was disappointed in the bass part. We did chat some extra after the fact but it didn’t really help out much.

Ok, so it sounds like you can catch them when you’re told what to throw and where. That’s part of the battle- knowing how to work a bait.

Next up (or first up) is knowing where to go in the first place. If the fish aren’t where you’re fishing then it’s a long day. The lure decisions won’t help there, so first work on finding them.

Then once you’ve found them, figuring out what type of thing to throw is next. That depends on where they are and what they are doing. You have spoons, a couple FFS designed jerkbaits, some crankbaits of various types, some plastics, etc. You’ve got lures to cover a range of locations for this time of year in particular and the waters you’re fishing. if you haven’t already, look at the footage and summaries of the last two big tournaments there. Quite a few fish were caught (and will continue to be caught) on lipless and shallow crankbaits right now. With FFS I’m sure the swimbaits would have played more. Same with jerkbaits. It might be a little early for pitching rage bugs but give it 10 more degrees and you’ll be there. I don’t think there is anything in your list that I would get rid of. It comes down to finding them and putting the time on the water.

I appreciate that! I have lots more than this too. Some new and some old. I know I have everything I need but just finding the fish has been the main issue. Any recommendations on learning this stuff or is it just purely a time on water scanning and fishing?

Learn what bass do by season/time of year. You’re talking about bigger lakes so pick one and focus on it. Or even on a section of it. Pick an area of the lake that has a range of things- main lake areas, major creek arms, smaller creek arms, backwater flats, etc so that you can try to find them out deeper, follow them shallow for the spawn, and the back to wherever they decide to go later. Learn a section and what the bass are doing. Then try to repeat that elsewhere.

Start from what they should be doing at any time of the year. Look around on the electronics a bit and see if you can find them. That’s side/down/ffs included. Learn your electronics. But then at some point you have to go fishing. Based on what they are doing you have to figure out how to catch them.

I would give it all a try, just remember one day they might bite on one thing and the next day something else. Even different spots on the lake and weather conditions will determine what the bass are feeding on. Also a different lake will change things.

Theres some really good stuff there. I would never use that many Rapala jerk baits in my life but they may be a staple at Guntersville. Those Krejs , thats a weird looking bait.

Ive used most of these and have had success. The rest look like they can catch fish well. It depends on your rod and reel arsenal and what you can use with them. The large Castaic minnows on the right look a little too big for most situations and beginners. I would keep everything and see what I like. It would be a shame to get rid of one that would have ended up being one of your go-to lures.

Almost any lure will catch fish. Rage, Rapala, Power bait are a few good ones you have. Your best chance of catching fish is using something you have confidence in!

You have a boat, so hopefully you can find the fish. Pick one of your baits and fish it.

Good luck!

Is this a trick question? Keep it all get rid of nothing.

Check out YouTube there are plenty of great videos that will show you how to adjust and use your electronics just type in what your using.

Skip G-Ville, Like most, I grew up as a kid fishing farm ponds with Mepps and beatlespins.... The smaller the body of water the easier it is to pattern.

Once you learn that, you can transition what you learn to larger & larger Lakes.

I mainly fish 600 acers or less... But I'll through a random trip in to a 10,000 acre lake. With what I've learned I can still catch fish. (My most recent outing late last year on the huge body of water still produced a 4-1/2 + pounder and it was my first time fishing there in 30 years.) Knowledge is everything, it just takes time.

Keep em all. Everything has its place plus you never know. Plus BassResource has a ton of videos on everything you got . I would check it out

It's interesting that you have no senkos.

I’ve got quite a few bags lol. This is just some of the stuff that I got this year. Also have quite a few paddle tails: keitech, rage swimmers, scottsboro bait co. Have quite a few cranks. Some newer and some from back in the day that’s not even made any more: old rat l traps, Mann baby 1 minus, bayou boogies, etc. quite a few old cranks that was my dads.

I grew up fishing ponds too. I don’t have a problem catching them in a pond. It’s just bigger lakes. My dad also used to take me in the boat too. I got his boat when he passed, a 1986 Cajun that’s been garage kept its entire life. Pretty good shape for its age. Everything is all original except the electronics. We were just never serious back then but we caught fish. Some things have changed a little too with how the lake fished back then. Just trying to learn more and get better now

Where do I find those?

Nothing there that I haven't caught a bass on except the Krej ... but I use a similar lure ( Riser) from Jackall.

So they are all keepers.

Answer is gonna depend on individual preference etc but I’d sell or give away the Ned rig pre rig deals and the Krej. Got no burning desire to mess with those. The other stuff all would get used!

I wouldn’t get rid of anything, especially if you don’t have a ton of lures or tackle to begin with.

You’ll never know if one particular thing is going to work great one day or not. What keeps fishing interesting for me, especially when I am not catching anything is trying different presentations and such to see what gets bit or not. Due to that, I like keeping an abundance of lures and tackle even if it’s something I don’t use frequently.

With that said, if you give one of those lures a chance and just don’t like the presentation or it’s just not working after time and time again, may be a teller to move on from it.

Any particular reason on the Jerky Js, powebait, snd savages you marked? The spoons I’ve tried and haven’t had any luck
