Boat Security without Power or Wi-Fi

Ok guys, it's time to take a serious look at this. You can install and relocate these cameras virtually anywhere. I know of several pros that have mounted theirs on the back roof of their truck canopies for security at hotels, camp grounds, and isolated boat ramps.

Have very limited knowledge regarding these type of units,

I recently did my version of a deep dive. Quite the versatile and capable security device.

While I have a need, mine is mostly let's call it rural residential.

If it were anything less, I'd be looking hard at these units.

Been a lot of stories lately of high dollar graphs stolen right off of people's boat in public places, some in broad daylight. Pretty cheap insurance to help protect our high dollar investments.

I've got my graphs on RAM mounts....very easy to just remove them when the boat is parked.

I have my graph on a RAM mount also and remove it almost 100% of the time. My kayaks are stored outside though. While they're pretty well hidden under the deck and behind our 6' fence, you never know when an unsavory charactor might show up and snoop around, like this guy.

Wow, that is ballsy. Hopped a 6 foot high fence, and went under the deck?

One word solution.

Rottweiler.

Also requires no wifi.

I travel a lot of overnight trips with my boat and security is always a consideration. One trip my wife booked the hotel and when we got there they had one single depth row of parking all the way around the property. When. Checked in the desk told me to park across the street in a shopping center parking lot. I was not happy. I normally put my graphs and anything valuable in a locked compartment (a joke of a lock BTW) and is covered by a Lok-R-Bar with an alarmed padlock. The padlock alarm is set up to beep if jostled and go off if moved again so I always give it a shake after locking it. I may consider a camera system as an added measure in the future.

The lack of rainbow crocs threw you off didn’t it?

They're there, it's just the old ones so they're faded to almost white now, relegated to yard word duty.

That’s why I have non deductible theft and comprehensive insurance.

Same here - but removing them solves the issue of having to go out and get new ones....as well as losing my waypoints.

The Vosker advertises a detection range of 100ft for both daylight and infrared coverage but it’s farther than that.

I have mine attached to a trellis in my yard and have to turn the units sensitivity setting down as it will pick up traffic on the street barely seen behind the line of trees.

I am curious? Do you secure the boat to the truck when traveling? What stops someone from unhooking the trailer and just taking the whole boat?

I purchased this coupler latch lock...but then the key broke off in the lock while we were at the lake. I grabbed a hammer and with one swing was able to defeat this lock easily. Worthless.

This hitch receiver lock looks more stout, but likely could be easily defeated.
