What line do you use for crankbait fishing?

Mono.  10 lb Trilene XT.  Why?  I guess because I already have it on hand for other apps.

mostly 10 lb(sometimes 12) suffix elite b/c i prefer a little strecth with cranks and it casts like a rocket

Braid used with fiberglass rod. Works for me.

I like a da stretchy.

P-Line 15lb Floroclear or 15lb Trilene Fluorocarbon are lines of choice but I also use YoZuri Hybrid 12lb on occasion.

I use 10, 12 or 14lb Trilene XT. Depending on the lure, depth, time of year, etc.

In northern natural lakes I don't think it matters what you use save for the diameter, and smooth flow OFF the reel.

In the rivers around here, cranking wood is about the fastest way to put fish in the boat, and in the past I've had lots of abrasion problems with XT.

I'll probably explore other options for this app? What's the most abrasion resistant line ya'll can think of?

Is much less visible, more abrasion resistant, has some stretch, and gets lures down deeper.

So, like I figured, it seems to be a toss up.

The majority of the split is flouro and mono. Mono users like the stretch, flouro users like the invisibility. Braid trails behind and is used as long as the rod acts as the "give".

Fluoro is also more sensative than mono.  it get cranks a little bit deeper.  I use 10lb P-line 100% Fluorocarbon.  Most people think that fluoros dont strecth but they do a little bit just not as much as mono.

Once my supply is exhausted, I'm thinking of giving 10 lb. Trilene 100% Flouro a try.

I use 12lb PLine fluoroclear.  It is a hybrid line that is easy to manage and is invisible to the fish.  It is more sensitive than regular mono and easier to cast than fluoro.

Fluorocarbon is more sensitive than mono but it stretches just as much as mono, the line just transmits better.  Check out the tackletour flurocarbon showdown if you don't believe me.

The best ways to get bit here are to be ticking the weeds in natural lakes....I prefer a much faster action, even stiffer rod than most. Non only are they almost always stiffer, but they also have the power to rip a crank free.

So I guess I prefer my sensitivity to be in the rod not line.

10-15lb berkely big game mono because with crankbaits Im always trying to get better hookups and mono is less sensitive therefore it gives the fish a split second longer to eat it before I feel it. Also mono has more stretch which gives a little less chance of pulling out the hooks

berkley vanish fluro 10-12lb helps a little to get it deeper, and very strong line.

Gamma Co. 10# for closer to the top and P-Line Flouro #15 for deep in the weeds. Not a lot of weedless water around here.
