She-man-o

Featured Replies

I overheard the phrase the other day "She-man-o" tacked to my beloved shimano during a abu garcia thread.Which baitcasting reel do you prefer?

I love my curados

I had 2 different abus and I had problems with both level wind worm gears.  I got 2 replacement reels and even the new ones broke.  Finally the sent me another model.

Their customer service is awesome though, no questions asked!

The Core, but right now if I were buying a new reel

it would be the CH50MG on sale for $187:

8-)

A buddy of mine got one on that deal, wish I was buying another reel right now. Easily the smoothest casting reel I have used to date, not to mention it can cast the LIGHTEST lures with ease.

Shimano! Love my Citica E! ;D I had a Abu Garcia revo S and had to return it because of problems with the brakes :-/

Is this even a debate?

I vote Shimano Chronarch 50 mg! To date Shimano 22 votes Abu 3 Wow that's all I am gonna say!

The Old round Abu's were the original symbol for quality, and some Abu's are still made in Sweden I think.  Referring to the Revos/Pfluegurs/BPS reels that come out of pure fishing's Korea factory....I just can't put the quality up there with Japanese reels.

I voted Abu but I fish both.  The high end Abu Morrums blow the doors off any Diawa or Shimano I have ever fished.  That being said, they were only sold in Japan and they stopped making them.  If I had to chose between a Revo SX and a Curado D, I'd take the Revo.  Haven't fished an E yet so can't compare that with anything.  I also sold my Chronarch B after getting a Revo STX.  Won't be getting rid of my Chronarch 50 anytime though.  Love that little thing.  But I sold my Morrum 6000 for a Calcutta 400.  Maybe it's just my Swedish blood that makes me partial to Abu.  :)

how times have changed.

still have one of those old abu's...fished it right alongside an old lew's and, at the time, thought it just didn't get any better.

well...it did.

50mg and steez 100/103.

The Morrum is a bad mammer-jammer....no doubt.

Shimano.

Nuff said with the poll.

She-man-O is the shiznit and will always be the shiznit. ( I hope )

I have been fishing with Shimano for almost 16 years now, and have never had a problem with the 50 or so reels I have bought from them. I just love them.

It could be a yuppie thing of fishing.

I've always been bummed that the domestic Morrums we only made for righty's.

My vote goes to Shimano.  I hope the new Chronarch can hang.  The old SF is still my favorite reel to date, and I love my TD-Z.

I guess the better question would be Japan or Korea?

Customer service.....Abu

Next purchase "Made in America" very strong consideration.
