They must feel like they are losing too much of the higher end market.

I thought Shimano said they wouldn't be selling G.Loomis anymore?

I'm sure they're going to be sweet!  8-)

G Loomis going to split grip.  That sucks.  I guess I will be sticking with my full grip GLX models.  Maybe they will follow the Dodyns idea of having some full grip and some split grip.

I thought Shimano said they wouldn't be selling G.Loomis anymore?

Actually they said they wouldn't be selling Blanks to custom builders any longer...

Shimano/Loomis is still producing rack rods for retail.....

Many anglers still think that "The Man" has something to do with the old G-Loomis name, and nothing could be more futher from the truth.

If your wondering what Gary Loomis is up to visit his Co's site..

I wonder what kind of warranty it will have, lol.

I'f I was to spend $500 on a rod(which I would never) It would be a custom built rod just for me...

180 is the max I would ever spend on rod... 8-)

I'm there...

Definitely!

That's some exciting news. A new domestic line

going head-to-head with Megabass? Too cool...

I hope G.Loomis continues to offer new and

innovative rods under their new ownership.

Shimano + Loomis = match made in heaven.

;D ;D ;D

I've caught 1000's of fish both salt and fresh on Loomis and NEVER had one break on hook set. In fact, NEVER had one break on a fish.

I hope they don't do all the new rods with split grip.  I have never used split grip but imagine I wouldn't like it.  Yes, I know I'm Mr. Negative >:).

Dang , I'm excited to get me a couple. And to think I just got another GLX Senko rod the other day ;)

I'm excited about the new lineup - I'll definitely get my hands on one as soon as possible - and it has nothing to do with status, snobbery, or elitism. I fish for the sheer enjoyment of it. I use nice gear because I enjoy using it. I share my first hand experiences with my tackle in order to help guys make more informed decisions in their tackle purchases. It seems that this approach is more helpful to the forum than negative commentary having nothing to do with the original subject.

By the way, Shimano has owned Loomis for about 13 years now. The BCR GLX rods, which are among the best out there, were produced well after the purchase occurred.

Can't wait....Finally a Domestic with a warranty to compete with JDM.
