best all around fishing line

Featured Replies

If you had to choose one type of fishing line for all applications

what type and Brand would it be?

Yo-Zuri Hybrid probably.

With out a doubt it would be Berkley Big Game. It is the best all around line made, period.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid soft, 12# for baitcasters

roadwarrior is spot on with this recommendation :)

I'm gonna go with P-line CXX, usually in 10-12lb. Clearly there is no answer, 6 responses and 6 different opinions. Everyone looks for different characteristics that make a particular line better for their needs.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid.

Tried a bunch of different brands, and copoly's and fluro's..I still go back to the Yozuri Ultrasoft, 6 to 20 lb test for different applications.  :)

If I could have only one line it would be between these three

Sunline Shooter Defier Nylon Mono

Sunline Shooter FC

Daiwa braid

and the winning choice would more then likely be Sunline Shooter Defier Nylon Mono because I could use it for everything even tho I wouldnt love it for everything I could make it work. and this is coming from someone that has Daiwa braid on 85% of what I fish.

YoZuri US

i have not tried CXX yet, however.

Well, for me it's Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft:

Spinning: #6

Baitcasting #12

I do use one line for everything. Trilene XL. 6, 8,10,12 and 14.

If I really had to use one it'd be P-line cxx in 10-12lb.  On a spinning reel if we get to have that different it'd be 6lb P-line Halo Fluoro.

Yo Zuri Ultra Soft or Gamma Copoly

P-Line CXX

Same here...6# for spinning, and 10#-15# for BC.

P-Line CX Prem 12# & 14# on most Baitcasters

Daiwa Samurai on Spinning and Baitcaster Heavy Jig/Frog setup

I try a different line every once in awhile on peoples recommendations and always come back to Yo-Zuri. I stay with 10# either soft or regular.

I'm stuck in the dark ages.
