Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 9, 2013 Author Global Moderator Share Posted June 9, 2013 Lol.. I'd like to know where and how you're even catching any! My best day there was Friday with only 5 fish all with a crawdad crank! All over with a little bit of everything. Fish a wacky rigged stick bait in some kind of watermelon color along the water willow and you'll catch plenty of fish. I've only done well with crankbaits out there a couple times. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Global Moderator Share Posted June 11, 2013 I was having a pretty crappy day today when they started hitting a wacky rigged orange Senko out of the blue. Caught my best smallie yet. Bigger than any smallmouth I've caught out there. It seemed like last year every Wednesday night we'd get at least one or two 15-17 inch smallmouth that would disappoint us when we saw they weren't largemouth. I was on the way to the livewell with one I caught right at dark that was in the 16-16.5 inch range before I realized it wasn't a largemouth. It slammed a buzzbait right next to the boat and it's momentum and my hookset lifted it into the air and it came off and landed in the bottom of the boat where I dove on it. It was getting hard to see and it was really light colored so I thought it was a largemouth, never been so disappointed to catch a nice smallmouth on topwater. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 13, 2013 Author Global Moderator Share Posted June 13, 2013 It was a pretty tough night for Drew and I. Fish were few and far between and not very big, minus a really nice drum I got on a Ned rig. Was about to accept defeat when I caught this fish about 15 minutes before weigh in on a home made chatterbait. It was big bass and first place at 3.86 pounds, my biggest Wednesday night fish to date.

It's tough to get those fish to bite out there sometimes! Since I told you my secret Hillsdale spot....(which might be a fluke considering it IS Hillsdale) where did you pull that one from? As far back in Wilson's cove as you can go along the edge of the water willow, the back edge, as in between the bank and the weeds in about 8 inches of water. Yep...know where you are talking about. That is a pretty good area in there...if you like to fish for cats from time to time I've not done bad with catching a channel cat or two in there as well. We've caught several keeper walleye out there this year and I had a short as recently as 2 weeks ago on a shakyhead. Don't think I've ever had one that big though. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 6, 2013 Author Global Moderator Share Posted July 6, 2013 Chris and I fished last Wednesday. Really one of those nights that the Dotte just beat us bad. Weather seemed perfect. Clouds, rain, some wind, dropping air temps, but really slow fishing. I had 2 real close ones but we got nothing to measure. Figured everyone else had the same problem but it seemed we were about the only boat not to weigh in Had the first keeper smallmouth of the year weighed in, just squeaked past 18" and went 2.97lbs. 5 and some change won it with 2 fish, same team had a 19+ inch largemouth that went 3 something for big bass. I'm probably out until the weather cools down a little bit again.

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Global Moderator Share Posted July 25, 2013 First night back to the Wednesday nighters last night. Fishing was terrible and we were having a very difficult time converting on the few bites we were getting. Right as we were ready to admit defeat and head in a fish destroyed Chris' topwater and made it to the boat (barely). 15 boats weighed in 4 fish, our one was good enough for 4th place and first out of the money! Someone weighed in a 5.1 pounder though, I think we may have seen them catch that one.

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 28, 2013 Author Global Moderator Share Posted July 28, 2013 went this morning caught few dinks thinking im gonna start not liking this lake I might even put it below Hillsdale Wrong time of year to be out there. It's a spring and fall lake for sure. Still, since they white bass population exploded the bass population seems to have almost disappeared. Still, since they white bass population exploded the bass population seems to have almost disappeared. I caught six on the trip the biggest was maybe 2lbs, as for white bass we searched all day, Sean hooked a nice schooly LMB back in the cove and my biggest came from a blind cast in 35 feet of water at the dam. joefish
Hit Wyco this morning, got there at 6 AM , not much action until around 10AM. Then bass were attacking shad on top of the water in the middle of the lake. Threw a small fluke into the churning water and hooked up almost every time. Had fun, although that's not normal bass fishing
SuperFluke
Finally got a new rig and re-visited the Dotte last night, 08/10. Wife and I caught 5...all smallmouth and all dinks. Producing were plastic worms and tubes in most of the obvious areas. Will be out at the Wednesday nighter this week. First timer, and never caught a keeper bass at Wyandotte. Loving my chances If you see me out there in this: Catching these: Come say hi.
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 12, 2013 Author Global Moderator Share Posted August 12, 2013 Kanasbassfisher08 and I will probably see you out there then. I'll be the guy in the green Lowe Roughneck with the dog who has about as good of a shot at catching a keeper as we do Last week there was 16 boats and not one keeper weighed in. I had one come off that I think was a keeper but that seems to happen every week. They were at least biting fairly decent last week.
