Yes that was me.  It looks like your bite really turned on for you towards dusk.  It sure sounded like you guys were having a lot of fun.  It's always good when your kid is with ya and your on the fish!  I caught a lot fish but didn't get the quality you did.  Nice looking rig you got there.  I'm headed back out there tomorrow and Thursday.  Hopefully the bite is still on.

Scrounger head and the tail of a Chompers Shaky Worm. All things rolled into one, shaky head, ned, and swimming bait. Plus, the vibration is amazing. More 18"+ fish for me on this bait than all others combined.

 

We are heading to Melvern Monday, if anyone else is going, hit me up. We can compair notes at days end.

I thought about the scrounger head, is that the Mardi Gras color you have on it? Interested to hear about your results! I use the scrounger a La Cygne and it works very well with a paddle tail. Arron Martins dirty little secret

Yup that is me.  I'm glad you got my good side.  I didn't make it to Melvern today because my buddy and I both had after school kid duty.  We did however make it out to Smithville because that's only a 10 minute drive.  We caught a total of eight with only three 15" or greater.  Not a great day but better than not going out at all.  We did see a pretty cool snake fight.  Looks like the copperhead lost the battle.  Hopefully I'll post the pic correctly.

ned rig was all we used and the catching action was constant all day long. We where not casting a the bank but about 10 to 15 feet out from it.  

Same idea at Milford this past weekend.  

The Melvern bug has got me so bad. Conor and I will be out again Saturday morning. If anyone else is out, we're launching at Eisenhower. Would be cool to meet up afterwards and share.

Will be there tomorrow in the morning, will be launching from the Corps ramp near the Marina. Plan on fishing all day, will be in a tan Lund, give a holler if your out tomorrow.

I'll be out there tomorrow as well.  Fishing from 0900-1600.  I'll be in a pewter and maroon ranger.  Be launching the same place as aavery.

I guess Jared and I will be out there as well. We're going to launch from Sundance and see how bad a new part of the lake can beat us.

We managed over 100 fish today, many of them small fish but we did manage to catch a couple of nice fish.

We made it to Melvern yesterday at 1000 and fished until 1600. Caught a whole bunch of fish again. Biggest was only 2.5lbs. My buddy has never caught any smallmouth before and he put a whoopin on me. I wanted to explore the lake but my buddy stated "Don't leave fish to find fish." So needless to say we were at the dam all day:) I did see that good looking Lund quit a bit out there. Glad to see you had an even better day than myself aavery

Must have been someone else, I left Wichita at 4:30am yesterday for Melvern, and did not get back until around 9:00pm. 

Getting my dad out for his last Melvern trip of the season tomorrow morning. Red Lund, give a shout!

It was 62.5 to 64 yesterday.

61 to 63.5 is what we kept reading, we fished mainly on the East end of the lake.

Sounds like melvern will be crowded this weekend. Think I'll go fish some Missouri strip pits.
