Went to Loch Raven today and caught a new PB.  Scale said 5 pounds even.  Caught her on a 1/2 oz. chartreuse Booyah spinnerbait.  Also would have had a PB chain pickerel but he bit me off right before

I was out last saturday but it was down in Occaquan creek on the lower Potomac. Even down there there was ice, had to use the boat to break it up to fish some areas. Bass were not biting but did get a few nice crappie. If there is no ice left fishing is still worth it, it may be slow but better than sitting at home. Just check that some of these places are still open. A lot of places are closed from Dec 15th thru March 1st.

Big pool and Blairs valley are on my list for the spring. What about Indian springs pond. Is that actually a pond or is that just what it's called? It keeps being listed as part of Blairs Valley when I look for it.

im not sure , ive never fished that pond...

look that up on google maps, use a satellite view and zoom in .. you can see the pond.. i believe thats the one they were referring too.. I dunno if you can just go in and fish there or not.. i use to have a friend that use to live out there in one of the houses in front of the pond on 40, i know he caught a few nice bass in there... there are also some HUGE snapping turtles back there too so watch out if you go lol

im gonna throw out a line tomorrow. Hair jig a few spots if i can make it to them.

yea i just spooled up my new reels, im prob gonna go get my license thurs and try some plastic worms a few places.. i wanna get down and try black hills sometime

I looked it up on the map. I'm guessing it's the sliver shaped body of water that's right beside the river. It's called big pool on the map.

Rippin-lips, that should be it, you have to go into Fort Frederick park to get there, drive by the fort itself, then after a set of railroad tracks you will see a dirt road off to your right. That is the road to the boat ramp.

Dramer, once spring gets here hopefully we can get something set up for Black Hills. I am sure Basser89 will want to join it, spring is his spinnerbait time at BH.

Rippin-lips, Brian's directions are spot on for Big Pool. ;)   Also, if you're up for some shoreline fishing there too. There is pond just past the road that takes you to Big Pool that has bass in it as well.

Dramer77, Black Hills is definitely worth a few visits in the spring for sure! The bass in my avatar is my PB and I caught her at Black Hills in mid-March a few years back. While spinnerbaits are my go-to bait in the pre-spawn, that one came on a lizard. :)

that address i posted was for indian springs.. if you use the satellite view  and zoom in alittle you can see a pond right near the arrow for that address..   big pool is a different one, its much bigger than indian springs

Looking for people in Montgomery Co. with similar skill set to bass fish with in 2013. I typically take my boat out on Triadelphia, Black Hills, and the Upper & Lower Potomac. Send me an e-mail in Bass Resource. Thanks

Hey JP, the are several members in and around Montgomery county! I frequently fish black hills and sections of the upper Potomac (mainly in Washington county) as well as smaller bodies around the area.

Hey JP, I am another one of the guys from Montgomery County, would enjoy a chance to fish with you.

Ever thought about joining a club, great way to meet guys for fishing. The one I am part of is based in Germantown, the website is www.fishonbassclub.com. If interested let me know I can let you know anything you need.

I fished foba for a few years before i went to college. I will most likely fish the trail in 2013 again

god i need to get a boat..lol    went out in the semi nice weather , nothing really biting but it was nice to throw a line out with my new gear

This will be my 4th year with FOBA, i guess you left before then. Its been a lot of fun, learned a lot since I started there.

yeah Dramer, getting off the bank definitely has its advantages especially in the colder months when fish are deep. Only place I know of up there for this time of year is the heated water discharge but I do not know specific directions. Basser89 knows the details I am sure he will chime in.

I wish there was something in my area as far as small tournaments go. I'd like to try one out sometime.

I knew this was coming up but wasn't sure when. I believe Allen (Munkin) is a member of the club. I MIGHT be able to go on sunday. I'll have to check to see. Does everyone know where this is? If not, its basically between Sharpsburg and Hagerstown on route 65.

Is this the address?

The Ag Center is closer to Sharpsburg, does have a pretty good sign out front. If coming from Hagerstown it is on the left off of 65.
