Maryland's Who's who!

When I fished with Munkin, his outboard was on the boat so I think you should be ok just using the TM but with the big motor on.

All of the electric only lakes that I know of in Maryland just mean you cannot use the gas outboard. In 8 years of fishing these electric only lakes nothing has ever been said to me and I have been stopped several times by the DNR Game Wardens. Now Cunnigham Falls Lake has some weird rule that your TM cannot be over like a 55lb trust but I ignore that and have never had a problem.

Went to Loch Raven today and caught a new PB.  Scale said 5 pounds even.  Caught her on a 1/2 oz. chartreuse Booyah spinnerbait.  Also would have had a PB chain pickerel but he bit me off right before

Forgive my ignorance, but is there something called Four Locks below Williamsport where you can run a "real" boat?

Got a buddy that wants me to tag along this week and he runs a glass boat, wasnt aware of water that deep in the river. Any opinions on the fishing in that stretch?

Yeah savage river d**n here in my area it can't be on the boat. Also koon d**n has the same rule but it's technically Pa. Both are water sources for local towns so that's probably why.

Four Locks is the section above Williamsport and Big Slackwater is below, both are just sections of the river that are deep because of a dam.

yea 4 locks is near MCcoys ferry and not far from big pool

I am thinking about taking a day off later this week and yaking Black Hill

It seems a little cold still perhaps, but I am planning on working the eastern arm, the more shallow side of the lake.

I doing a recon misson today on foot. I almost always wear a white baseball hat and sunglasses in case you see me. I usually work the shores but do work my blue yak as well.

Good luck this year to everyone for a new record fatty bass

To you or the bass? I hit BH today and water temp was 59-63 degrees. Fish are in pre-spawn right now but shouldn't be too long now until the spawn starts.

I was able to hit black hills for a few hours th is morning too. Checked the temp about 9am and got 60. I couldn't put the puzzle together this morning. Got blanked.

i ran into a few boaters and none seemed to have much luck yet this spring, almost a late start, at least compared to last year.

Everyone I spoke to saw some big ones by shore by nothing on a hook.  I saw a big run take a little run at my creature bait.

The water was cloudy.  I do seem to remember landing my first fish in March last year, I have been skunked in 3 trips this year.

hit black hills tonight with my brother. My brother managed 2 right away, nothing big. he caught them on a 4 inch zoom lizard. I threw everything in my tackle box and didn't get a hit. Fish were breaking the water all over the place though.

I fished bp today and caught 2 dinks. 1 on a wacky senko and another on a chart/blk kvd 1.5

Water temp was around 65 but muddy as heck.

I fished Black Hills yesterday from about 11am to 4pm and caught about 25 fish. Most of what I caught were the 12-14" buck bass but I did catch one about 5lbs near the riprap. There were definately periods of activity where I would catch 3 or 4 in 10 minutes then nothing for an hour. The fish are around they are just getting a later start this year.

So, any word on the fishing in the section of river I mentioned?

He said it is the Dam 4 area.

The Big Slackwater area above Dam 4 can be a decent place to fish. My PB came from up there, was 7.25 pounds.

Just keep in mind there are a lot of pleasure boaters there and be careful not to run to far upstream as it shallows up again rather quickly. Sean can be more specific about how far up this happens, he knows it better than me.

Just wondering if anyone had fished it or had some pointers. I have never fished that section.

Brian, thanks for mentioning your PB. That is encouraging.

In my opinion Four Locks is the worst place that I fish overall. If our club did not hold tournament there I doubt I would fish it at all.

Give me a call and I will let you know everything about that place.

Think I have determined we are going to be fishing Big Slack, not Four Locks.

I think.

Wow...looks like a lot of action has been going on here .  . Just wanted to let you all know we were still around. Between work, weather and some minor health issues we haven't been out. Don't even have licenses yet. I think we'll just get our resident WV and not fish the MD ponds we usually hit. Last year they all pretty much sucked for us. Hop fully we can get out soon...maybe this weekend. Still looks like Black Hills is where the action is...some great reports from there I see. Hope everybody keeps catching fish.

Finally saw a largemouth sitting on a bed today…buddy of mines hooked him, prob 2lbs or a little less.

Hey everyone. I am new to the forum. I live in Gaithersburg and love bass fishing. I caught this 19 inch LM in Black Hill (the stick up area). This is my first LM in BH lakes.

I check the Google map. It looks to me there are some nice shore accessible spots on the other branch of the lake (off Old Baltimore Road, called Tenmile Creek). Has anyone been there? Is there any parking slot nearby? Thanks!

Hit BlackHills today from about 3 to 6.  Got one one my 3rd cast, just a small guy.  Missed one about 30 mins later.  Then managed this 4 pounder just as I was about to call it a night.

I did leave some lipless cranks on the bottom of the lake to pay tribute to the fishing Gods.  Looks like I need to grab some more before I get back down there.

Fished Deep Creek last Saturday. I caught picks and walleye all day but couldn't buy a bass bite.

My buddy on the front of the boat was the exact opposite and put about 20 bass in the boat, mostly smallmouth.

BTW, it was SNOWING in the morning there.  Stupid weather.
