Maryland's Who's who!

Turnout was decent but the fishing was not good. Lunker was 2.55 and winner had a limit of 5 that weighed 4.66. So you get the idea.

wow, that's the average size bag from that lake?

Went to Black Hills today and caught what is easily my PB.  Slowing swimming a senko with a chartreuse tail (again) and she inhaled it...I knew it was big when I set the hook, but I almost ticked on m

Went to Loch Raven today and caught a new PB.  Scale said 5 pounds even.  Caught her on a 1/2 oz. chartreuse Booyah spinnerbait.  Also would have had a PB chain pickerel but he bit me off right before

Yeah pretty much. It was tougher then normal but it's a rough place to fish anyways. There are big fish in it just not super plentiful.

11lbs was the largest winning weight out of the 5 I have fished. That place is tough to fish and since it doesn't take much weight to win everyone has a chance. Saturday I missed 1st by 5 ounces and only had 3 fish. What frustrated me was all the 11" fish I caught.

I here mark mills can put you on some big ones there.

Working in Waldorf this week and my girlfriends family lives down this way. So I hooked up with her bro and we fished a tourney last night on the lower Potomac. We missed the top 4 by a pound and had a total bag weight of 13.86 Winning weight was 16.9. Good thing was we had lunker at 5.05 and that paid out 170$. Lower Potomac is a awesome body of water compared to my home stretch of water.

I've been fortunate to have tangled with some true MONSTER skis but still find myself wanting to fish for bass more. :)

Mark and Phil left the tournament early because they hadn't caught any keepers. I spoke with Phil at Dick's and he said they fished the; Slackwater tournament Saturday morning, Rocky Gap in the evening and then Riverbottom Sunday morning. That is some dedication to fish 3 tournaments in two days! Mark and Phil are the guys I am usually trying to beat.

Managed a short outing this morning. With not a lot of time, I popped over to culler lake. Made a good decision. About 9:30, I felt a tick amd the rod got HEAVY! At the end of a good fight, I landed a 20 inch, 5 pounder on a Sweet Beaver loaded up with Mega Strike! Will post a puc as soon as I pull it from the camera.

LOL, Si is the one that scares me.

Don't be jealous Allen. ;)

Wow, nice.  I ran over there last night for a bit, couldn't get anything.  Last week I did get a nice 4 pounder out of there though.

Managed to get out on Saturday morning at Black Hills from 6:30-12:00. Only managed one after switching to a super fluke on a weighted hook.

Came back for revenge around 5:00pm for about an hour. Managed two with one around 3lbs and missed two others. Not bad for a short outing. I may need to start going out at the latter half of the day from now on.

Piney Reservior was on last night here in Western Md. Between the 4 of us we caught 22 fish all on buzzbaits. Waded out knee deep and fished for about 1.5hrs just up and back a stretch of bank.

3lbs + was my best. Blew up on it about 5ft to my left. Scared me half to death in the dark.

Stopped by Middletown Community Park yesterday afternoon for about an hour and half. Only landed one about 16". Another fella landed what looked to be 4lbs on his first cast. I don't think he caught anything after that. I have never fished there but I'm sure that place gets a ton of pressure.

Other than that I've been stuck at Lake Linganore landing nothing but 16" or smaller. There are some large Crappie and Sunniesw which make for some entertainment in between. I'm halfway tempted to start fishing for carp as I wouldn't be surprised if the State record was broken at Linganore with some of carp I have seen swim by.

My only goal for this year is to beat my PB. Never caught a LM above 4lbs...has anyone here ever fished the lake/pond next to Walmart on Monocacy Blvd. by Walkersville? Anyways, here are some pics. Always nice to look at even if the fish aren't big. Cheers.

MARsSPEED, you live at Lake Linganore?

MARsSPEED, you live at Lake Linganore?

I live in West Winds which is part of Lake Linganore so I have legal access. Unfortunetly I do not own a boat and am restricted to the shore. I have successfully already scouted everywhere I can access on foot including the other small lakes that are part of Lake Linganore.

It seems there are big bass to be found in the lake based on research I have done online but I believe they live in parts that cannot be accessed by foot. I also have a copy of the contours of the lake from a sediment study done a few years ago by the USGS.

Ok, I was going to say I'd bring my boat down to fish with you.

I have a buddy that lives up from the launch. I've fished there once and it was AWESOME!

I greatly appreciate it! Unfortunetely the rules are strict and every boat on the Lake has to be registered with the Association. I am not sure if I can register boats owned by others or not, but I think it may be worth looking into. I do know it costs $40/year for boat and trailor registration.

I may have to sell the golf clubs and get myself a john boat and elec motor!

Hey MARsSPEED,

How's the grass at middletown? Is it choked out yet? Its been a while since I've been over there.

Went over to Black Hills from 6-7:30pm. Managed four from about 3lbs to a dink, but three of the four ranged from 14-17". Definitely a better bite in the evening, too bad it's so hard for me to get out at that time. Heading up to NYC for the holiday. Enjoy the 4th!

I hope BH is fishing better than Rocky Gap? I fished a tournament their last Saturday and managed 12 non-keepers which was very disappointing.
