Music While You Fish?

Featured Replies

hey guys, i was just curious, how many of you listen to an ipod or radio or any other kind of music while you fish?

i personally never have, i would think that i'd be more concentrated on fishing without music, but i have never tried fishing with music.

I choose not to for the same reasons as you. Besides, taking in nature' music is better. But in the car, on the way to and home, that's a different story. :)

yup, i always have some metallica on for the drive

im sure if i was fishing by my self i would be more likely to listen to my ipod, but i probably still wouldnt because i'd need to concentrate on my fishing.

I'm going to guess that at least 50% of the membership here has no idea what an 8 track is.   ;D

You betcha ! Wait, I think I saw one in Le Louvres Museum once  ;) ;D !

As for music while I fish .... hum never ! I just don't want to miss that big topwater bite in my back and I want to be able to hear it and turn around  :P

Nope!!!!!!!!!!!! It's my back to nature time.

If I'm in the boat bass fishing then I'd never do it.  On the bank using bait for bass, or catfish, or whatever I might do that, or if I'm at a family gathering and fishing at the same time.  So I voted sometimes.  But really it's mostly never cause I do far more bass fishing from my boat than anything else.

I'll bet 25% have never even seen vinyl. ;D

Sometimes, but I only have one earbud in and I keep it low.

Tried it before, but just rather enjoy the sounds of nature.

I was fortunately at the right age that I got to see 8 tracks and definitely had many vinyls, but was glad to see that era go.  ;D

No music for me.  I don't even want the guy in the back to talk.

I like to listen for them when they jump.

Not when I'm bassfishing but catfishing and saltwater fishing, I will.

My cassette player sunk or shall I call it a Boom Box.

Metallica Black Rocks--Unforgiven

I never have music in the boat. I don't even play the radio in the car or truck unless its time for the news. I do carry a little portable radio in the summer and its switched to AM so I can hear the crackle of lightning. My boat is very slow so the radio is my early warning for thunder storms.

I have a radio in the boat for sox games. If im stream fishing, i carry a portable for the tent later in the day.

I've been highly interested (obsessed) in wildlife since around the age of 7 or 8.

Today I can identify close to 100% of the birds I hear based on their song or note.

Toting artificial din into the great outdoors would only make me feel lonely and disjointed.

I've spent years fishing on the Atlantic Ocean and never once even thought about music. Sorry Steve Tyler, I'd rather listen to Franklin gulls ;D

The unmistakable splash of a feeding bass can be heard a looong distance,

but not if natural sounds are overwhelmed by manmade noise

Disturbed, Steve Miller, Skynyrd, it's all good. I'll even take some rap.
