Hey all,

After a full day standing to fish on my boat, my feet are usually killing me so I'm looking for some footwear options. I'm usually wearing flip flops or Nikes, but they're not doing the trick. I'm hoping like crazy to avoid crocs (they just ridiculous to me ), so please give me some other options

I've found Keen to be the best of anything I've worn. With five ruptured discs, three ACL repairs on the left and two on the right, good footwear are as important to me as anything. I've had great luck with my Keens.

From my boat(or someone else's), I fish barefoot. I wear Sperry flip flops to and from boat. From shore it is either nike tennis shoes, or boots for high grass.

I am so used to wearing boots, that when I fish if I wear sneakers, sandles, or crocs my feet and back hurt after a few hours. So for me I wear my wolverine work boots more than anything else.

Barefoot, socks when the carpet is too hot during the summer. It was 115 degrees here today!!!

Sketchers. Most comfortable shoes I ever owned.

I wear Keens and are happy with them, except when the biting flies are chewing my feet (through the spaces in them).

I would say try Croc's before you count them out. I used to think they were THE most ridiculous thing I'd ever seen until I tried them.

They are quite comfortable and very functional in a wet environment.

I wear gym shoes. When I get sick of standing, I'll sit down and fish a worm, jig, or senko slowly.

Just flip flops usually. I have heard that they can be bad if you wear them too much, but no problems so far.

I have a pair of Keens that I like pretty well and keep my back from hurting. I also have a pair of regular crocs and a pair of their flip flops. The flip flops don't look goofy like the regular crocs but they are just as comfortable and you don't end up with the polka dot tan spots on top of your feet! I used to fish barefoot until I saw the clip of Bill Dance stepping on a Fat Free Shad in his socks, I have no desire to get a hook in the bottom of my foot! Plus the aluminum boat with no carpet gets a little warm during the summer time! Do I smell bacon? (little cop humor for you)

A good pair of work boots with smooth non-slip soles, arch support and some gel inserts. Keep them treated with some water repelant and your good for any condition

And remember that a man need a good pair of boots and a good bed, because your in one or the other 85% of the time

For those of you wearing crocs, keens, etc -- are you wearing them with or without socks? I've seen some reviews somewhere (I can't seem to find them now) indicating that some of these are not meant to be worn without socks.

Flip Flops in the summer.

When it is colder out I'll where either ordinary sneekers (I like Addidas Stan Smith) Or if it is really cold out, I'll where my Wolverine work boots.

I usually wear my work boots which are my old original issue bates combat boots. If not them then my saucany sneakers. I gave up flip flops and fishing years ago when I sliped on some rocks because the flip flops broke and I ran down the steep bank of large pointy rocks barefoot to keep from faceplanting or breaking my arse.

I've been wearing the Keen's Newport H2 sandals for the past 5 years and would recommend them for summer time wear.

Since my saltwater days where there's lots of fish-slime and slippery fiberglass decks,

I developed the habit of wearing "deck shoes".

Currently I wear Rockport ProWalkers and I'm not sure if deck shoes have anything to do with it,

but the next time I get sore or tired feet will be my first time .

flip flops cause I almost always have to get in the water to launch my boat or pick up

Shell toe Adidas or reef sandles if I decide to get my feet wet.

Try Reef flip-flops. They really are rediculously comfortable. Cheap flip-flops just dont cut it.

Get the Fanning or Vision model if you go with reefs. Although they're generally expensive, but if you get them at a nordstrom rack you can get them for a lot less.

Otherwise I go au natural, barefoot.
