Would You Really Get Bored Of Fishing???

Featured Replies

I was rooting around on the internet trying to find some nice desktop photos of fishing to replace Kim Kardashian and I just kept seeing one incredible photo after another of places that would be great to fish. I love bass fishing, fly-fishing, trout fishing, you name it! Then, I started to wonder would I really get bored with life if I had enough money to fish the rest of my days away? NOPE!!! (I would try to do some charity work as well.)

Anyone else have an opinion?

I can afford to fish every day, I just can't afford to fish wherever I want. But, no. I wouldn't get bored of traveling the world, fishing wherever I wanted. heck, I could get by just fine by only fishing 10 different states in the U.S.

I don't know, but I would like to find out. :D

I would be happy if I had the time to fish all of the places around where I live.

I have to admit, I start to get a little bored around the 110-120th trip of the summer. This happened last year when I basically had the boat out almost every day the entire summer. I've learned to pace myself a bit in the midsummer months so I'm still hungry come late fall. If I could fish 12 months a year on open water for a variety of species, it would be totally different, but the fishing season is only about 5-6 months long up here(Memorial Day Opener until Nov. 1 when the water is ice cold), and I'm not into ice fishing.

Two Words: No Way

There are so many species out there, that is would take nearly a life time to catch them all.

Now if I were stuck to fishing for one species for the rest of my life, then maybe.

For that to be even plausible, one would have to be without wife and family. Unless the wife is with you only because of the money. For me, the wife is gone, the kids are grown, all I need is the means. Hey Bassn Blvd, Wanna share some of that wealth? ;)

Are you going to the same lake all the time?

Pretty much the same way here with our bass season, however I go to so many lakes it's impossible to get bored around here. There's always new fishing holes to be discovered here.

I probably fish 350 days a year, it's rare when I don't fish, last time I missed was my colonosotpy, lol Bored, never ! I generally get offshore 1-2 times a week, snook fish every single day, even before I meet my guys at 7:00am to go offshore. Once the weather cools down I do some bassfishing on my way home from the ocean and then again in the late afternoon.

I don't know, but I would like to find out. :D

Not bored, only better.

I usually get bored once a year. I just take a break. But with a ton of money, I wouldn't just fish.

I would get bored fishing all the time. I like it as a seasonal thing (every season but winter biggrin.gif lol ) an like to fish maybe 5-7 times a month. I'd be sick of it after fishing everyday for a month.

Nope.

Not a chance. I like fishing for too many different kinds of fish at too many different places to get bored. One of the hardest decisions I have to make each time I go fishing is where and for what, I'm always pulled so many different directions wishing I had more time to fish for something somewhere other than where I'm going.

No chance with all the species of fish there is to catch and techniques used to catch them. From freshwater to saltwater, there are too many options.

Sadly I have to say yes because I have cotton bored fishing this year and this year was probably my worst year in numbers of days fishing or even hours spent fishing. Really slow days I get extremely bored and start to contemplate going home usually don't but some times I do. I love to fish it's what I live to do but I get bored very easy so I think doing it everyday all day I might get bored

I can't imagine that I would! I hope that someday I'll get the opportunity to prove myself wrong but it will probably never happen.

I'm going to assume that W-C-B doesn't mean "fish every day" as in backing the boat out of the home driveway and heading to the local lakes that you've fished all your life each and every time.

I'm thinking Montana for Trout, Washington State for Steelhead, Michigan for Salmon, The Keys for Bonefish, Canada for everything etc. etc. That would require various means of travel, differant styles of lodging, differant types of dining experiences.

Basically, as adventurous as you would like so again, I can't imagine I would.

Bored with fishing...probably not

Holy dang dude. I just snorted coke out my nose when I read that. LOL that just made my day. Dang I needed a laugh today.

Anyway as for the op. Heck Naw I wouldn't get bored with it. I already fish over 300 plus days a year. I'm too strung out on bassing to get bored with it. Bassing is to me what heroin is to a junkie.

Tried it with very little money last year made it 157 days before I had to go back to work never got bored or tired. Got divorced. So i just carried my 4year old son with me it never got old I could do it at least 14hrs a day forever nothing better than watching the sun rise on the water over the mountains . Its heaven on earth

I hear a lot of stories about marriages ending over fishing haha... as for getting bored- never
