Welcome to the family. I know you'll find what you are looking for here. One pointer though. A bass is a bass no mater what state or body of water it lives in. You will learn alot about bass from anyone in the country.

Rate ESPN's coverage of the classic......
I'm working on that one. I got pictures of most of the lures that the top six used and found out several of their patterns.

The General thread is a disaster!

The General thread is a disaster!
Matt nailed the reason we don't have a Welcome Forum. I have watched several forums over the years that have welcome sections. At first they are great and plenty of members come to welcome the new guys but in a very short amount of time the mods become the only ones who welcome them. The way we do it here is the best way. It helps all the new members who introduce themselves feel welcome and part of the family. It is the reason we retain so many great members for so long. First impressions are big and there is no better way to have a good one than to make someone feel welcome in our big family. As for the moved topics. This is how we educate the new members as to how things work. Sending them a PM is a good idea but most of them don't know how to check it when they are new and a PM is more work for us. If you don't like reading between the moved stuff just go to the third page and they won't be there. I have been deleting them from the third page on for over a year now.

Lake Russell, GA
Jerkbait, Jerkbait, Jerkbait. The lake is in great shape at only about two feet below full pull the last time I checked. It has plenty of Largemouth but it is full of nice spotted bass. There could be some spawners but I doubt it. Worms are a good bet but I would turn the Trolling Motor up on high and jerk points until I found some fish and then clean the point off with some jigs and plastics.

Media day at the Classic (pics)
My eyes were opened to effective and efficient prefising. My "WOW" moment was definitely the Z9 Nitro. I am still amazed and surprised.

Bassmasters Classic
The Expo will be at the Exposition Center neer the airport. The only thing at Portman Marina will be the blast-off and the return. The Bi-lo center will be where the weigh-in will be.

JJ's Magic
JJ's will not hurt the plastic. If you are using it for the entire bag just a little bit will do the trick. I have tested it several times against Spike-it and it is better by far.

Would fishing for bass on an ultralight rod damage the rod?
Using an Ultra Light to catch bass is an exciting way to do it. Ask Ray Scott (The founder of B.A.S.S.) It's his favorite way to catch a bass. I caught my Personal Best (9.98lbs) on a limp noodle rod and 6lb test. It was awesome.

I think they have takin this way too far...
Forget about the deer. He's wearing an Auburn hat. That's to much right there. The Sexy Shad Color is a great color. It has proven itself by catching thousands of fishermen.
