Global Warming?
I agree that we can and should clean up the air to make it healthier for us to breath. But to use unproven scientific theories as a scare tactic to make political or financial gain is wrong. It reminds me of a story of a little chicken that got hit in the head by a nut.

Arkansas Boy, 5, Kills Black Bear/+ AGFC Response
I don't care what the laws say. Letting a boy handle a gun at two years old is just plain dumb. I've taken young men hunting several times. I am the one who controls the firearm untill it is time to shoot. I hand the gun over to him and after the shot I take the gun back. I will do this for my boys untill they are 14 and after that they will have to prove to me that they know how to handle it.

Lag on the board
Guys Glenn is currently working on something big for us. This is probably what is causeing the slight lag. He makes changes this time of year while the site is at it's slowest. He made the last change because he had to. This change is because he wants to.

Global Warming?
Here's an interesting website. It is about a petition signed by over 18,000 scientist who don't agree with the current global warming theory. It has some good information. This is the other side of the story. http://www.oism.org/pproject/s33p357.htm

Global Warming?
My older brothers have a little experience with the whole scientific world. One brother is a mathematician. Scientists look to mathematicians for a lot of answers. Don't ask me what answers because that was way over my head when I asked him. The other brother is a Rocket Scientist. He is the world authority when it comes to space-age optics and weather sensors on satellites and aircraft. They have both mentioned to me how many of the agencies of scientists who are studying Global Warming seem to have blinders on. If something doesn't fit into their agenda then it is thrown out or changed in some way. Many years ago my brother designed and built a satellite that would test the ozone layer, locate the holes and tell them how big they really were. Up until this point the ozone layer theory was just that, a theory. It would prove once and for all if it was actually being diminished by the stuff we were putting into the air. After finishing this satellite he started looking for someone to put it into space. He asked every agency in the world and they wouldn't touch it. He tried for several years until several politicians forced him to stop. They threatened to shut his company down if he continued to try to put it into orbit. So it's still just a theory. Now this wasn't the first or last satellite he has put up there. The thing I'm trying to say is that there are things out there that drive science. One being the natural world. The other is money. But the money has to come from somewhere because these scientists aren't providing any products for sale. The money mostly comes from donations, private grants and government grants. Face it, the majority of those private funds come from people who, (without sounding political) think the world is warming. The government grants are dished out by the politicians who need the world to warm or their political footing might be lost. If the scientists loose the money they are out of a job. There are a few scientist out there that go against the majority to say that this is a normal trend and that us humans don't have anything to do with it. What do you think happens to them?

Was only a matter of time before the paddletail...
Dan, I've never heard that. But that doesn't mean it's not true. I have heard that you can't patent something that happens naturally.

Was only a matter of time before the paddletail...
Good grief!!!!. If the guy can't keep up with the demand for his product someone needs to. It's simple economics. There's a high demand for a product that is in short supply. No matter what it is there will always be another company out there that will be glad to pick up the slack and copy the product. As soon as he noticed the large increase in demand he should have contacted a big company and asked them to make the bait for him. With his specifications. That way he could benefit more from it. A patent would have been nice to.

Any others here fans of cheese?
LBH, That's what I thought at first but cracker, jam and cheese is a regular mid day snack in Norway. After hearing about it I had to give it a try and I have to say it is yummy. My other love is High Dollar 100 year old Balsamic Vinegar. I love it with fruit.

Any others here fans of cheese?
I love cheese. My favorite is Blue cheese. But it has to have the right moisture content. I hate it dry. My favorite is Nauvoo Blue cheese but they got bought out by some Wisconsin company and shut down. I was mad. My favorite snack is Ritz Crackers Blue Cheese or extra sharp cheddar Strawberry Jam. It is outstanding.

Chat Room
why is that???? we've never had ANY problems on the other chat room. :-? Currently I am in the middle of the first of two 15 hour night shifts this weekend. I pulled a 10 last night. Then on Monday when I get home I get about four hours of sleep and then I start work at my other job. I have my own insurance buisness that I work at Monday thru Friday and then come Friday night it's back here to the Hospital for 40 more hours. Total time worked this week will be about 120hours for me. I'm not the only mod with a busy schedule and bills to pay. We don't get paid to Moderate these forums we don't have the time to Moderate a chat room. If you wan't to chat that's fine just leave BR out of it and have a fun.

another rifle question
The fact is he will probably only take 3 or 4 shots a year at deer and dozens of shots at varmints. A 243 with a 95gr bullet will kill a deer in VA. I have done it 9 times to be exact and one of my deer did run........ about 20yards. I killed three coyotes with it this year. It is all about practice. So Dan we have given you a few good choices and hopefully we have educated you a little. Take your pic and go practice. My last bit of advise is don't buy a cheep scope. You will regret it later.
