  1. Get last seasons Scott Martin Challange. I just got mine in and it is great.
  2. A good sandwich and a Mountain Dew so I can take some time to regroup and rethink the situation. Then it's back to bass fishing.
  3. It's a magnetic break system. The only adjustment is the dial on the side of the reel.
  4. Welcome to the best place for bass information available. Jump in with both feet and try not to get swamped with all the stuff we have to offer.
  5. It's more like types of colors for me. I carry three. Translucent colors - Clear water Opaque colors - Stained, muddy or deep water Bright colors - Clear and deep water
  6. WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats Randall. That is wonderful.
  7. I make all my rods with spiral wrapped guides. I love it.
  8. Thanks Brian, It was my pleasure. Check out the sticky thread in the lure section that's titled BR Lure Fun. You will see the lure in that thread.
  9. I got the mojo and packed it in. I combined it with the BR Lure Fun deal and had a great day.
  10. It's called a camera. I used to spend the entire off season in the woods and I would keep my skills up by bringing my camera along and taking pictures. It was a blast. I would see how close I could get to a deer and snap a picture.
  11. I went through some of the list and there are a few on it that haven't been on the forums in a few months. This is a little concerning. I hate to see this end with a MIA due to someone's lack of motivation to send it on. Choose wisely but don't rule out the newer guys. If they are active on the forums be sure to give them a chance.
  12. A small backpack or a fly fishing vest.
  13. Dude!!!! Where I'm fishing......... Let's just say I will try not to wear it out. I promise to replace the trebles after I destroy them. 8-)
  14. Now that funny right there. I don't care who you are. I'm pretty sure there are panfish in there. The bass have to eat something.
  15. Fishing rules are just starting points. My clear water bass love mertiolate trick worms, crome lipless cranks and yellow crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Not charturse but bannana yellow. Always let the bass tell you what they want. They didn't read the rules.
  16. I'm curious, Fluke. Because you brought this up some time ago. What is the significant difference between a Spot Remover and (Bagley)Shakey Head? I'm not talking about the physicial difference in construction/form, I know about those, but what is different about them with respect to fishing technique. I fish both and I fish them exactly the same. I have a preference for one or the other depending on the type of bottom, but other than that, what is it that makes them so different? I'm going to be short with this and I don't mean any disrespect. Spot Remover- Stand up head. Originally designed for a hop-pause technique. If you shake it like a shaky head it will fall over most of the time. It is also deadly when dragged across pea gravel or shell beds. Shaky head - Round head jig with a long shank hook. As the name implies, it is design to be hoped or drug on the bottom and during the pause you shake it. This causes the worm to wiggle 30 to 40 degrees off the bottom. I have found that the weight of the lizard causes the Spot Remover to fall over on its side shortly after it hits the bottom. That is why the Shaky head would be best for this.
  17. The reason I asked is because it's the best grass rig there is. I caught my personal best 9.98lbs bass on a version of the splitshot rig. It's called the mojo rig and I was useing a 1/16th oz weight and 6lb flurocarbon on a noodle of a rod.
  18. I use a trick worm 75% of the time. Are you fishing it in grass?
  19. All rude and disrespectful comments have been removed.
  20. Not all lures are good for skipping but alot of them will. The one I learned with was a 3/8oz arkie head jig.
  21. Yep, I got it and it's packed for my little trip on Monday.
  22. I was going through the same thing a few months ago. I couldn't skip under docks to save my life. I went fishing with senko77 one day and he started skipping and I asked him to show me how. He gave some great advice. "It's all about low trajectory and high velocity." Get it going as fast and as low as you can and with allot of practice you will get it. I went out the next day and practiced for about six hours. Now I can do it pretty good.
  23. When we are looking for something to weigh them down we find a brick company in the area and go ask if we can have some of their broken bricks. They have alway said yes and I've been to several different companies.
