  1. That's a largemouth. My advice is to fish it and don't worry about only catching small bass. The big ones will come. If there are bass that small in the lake there has to be some moms and dads in there to.
  2. Yea, try flyfishing for rainbow trout inside the Atlanta Ga city limits. People think your nuts but there are some huge trout in the river.
  3. I use straight shank hook for fishing in grass. There is nothing better for working thick grass.
  4. Spot Remover Jighead with a finesse worm.
  5. What were you fishing with and how were you setting the hook? Some lures or rigs require different hooksets.
  6. I like it when I catch the one piece ones.
  7. I couldn't help but laugh at that one. I totally agree. Thanks for this post. It's perfect.
  8. Welcome

Welcome. We have a few members from Idaho that should be able to help you out. I used to fish for trout on Henry's Fork and the Snake when I was younger. I love that part of the country.
  10. yea, Those one week trips are hard on them. This year I went to the Bassmasters Classic for one week and then a month later I went on the Guntersville trip. That was a rocky time but we made it through it. I have three boys and she worked her tail off during that time and it what hard on her being left alone. My wife really felt left out during that time. When I got home from Guntersville I did everything I could to remind her that she was still #1.
  11. On more word of advice..... Never name your boat " The Other Woman." I tried that once. It didn't go over to well. I now call it "The Office."
  12. I rig mine upside down most of the time. They have always given me a better action that way.
  13. I love my wife to death and I know that she loves me. We've been married for eight years now. She knew that I loved the outdoors before we got married. Heck, the first time I told her I loved her I was sitting in a deerstand talking to her on the phone. I laid it out for her real simple. I said it like this. You will always come first, but if you want me to be a pleasant person to live with you need to understand one thing...... I fish.......... No, Let me rephrase that. I fish allot, and I will be fishing till the day I die." She still doesn't understand why I love fishing so much and she doesn't try to. She just knows that fishing is what I do. It is my stress relief. It is where I go to unwind. When I return home I am in a better mood and I always try to tell her about what happened that day.
  14. I don't want to sound mean when I say this but... You're doing everything wrong. Go up to at least a 3/0 hook. Fish it on a Med/Heavy spinning rod. Use at least 12lb test. Wait for the hookset and set the hook over your shoulder or at a low sweep if you are useing a swivel. Most poeple use wide gap hooks but I prefer 4/0 offset round bend hooks. They have more bite.
  15. did you sharpen the opening of the barrel? This shaves the edges of the large spuds so they fit perfectly. Sharpen the outside of the lip not the inside. I shot one through my neighbors wall once. It went into an upstairs bedroom. OOPS
  16. Whatever you have confidence in. Confidence is 90% of it.
  17. It says 290,000 miles. It that right?
  18. Yea that spot in their toung is a bad place. There is one or two veins that run down their toung. It's very rare that your hook hits it perfect but when it does, the fish bleeds quick. There is not much you can do without something to coagulate the blood.
  19. Not very many. Four or five a year. I keep a small bottle of Sure Life "Please Release Me" in my tackle bag for bleeders. I sprinkle a little bit on the bleed and it stops. If I'm in my boat I just put the fish in the livewell and treat the water with the stuff and the bleeding stops.
  20. I removed it for him. That was pathetic. I can't believe you thought that was funny. If I fished NOVA I would give you some spots alright. You would be looking for spots in the middle of the lake. >
  21. I buy my hooks in bulk at the beginning of each year and replace the dull and rusty ones as needed.
  22. That is funny. Before I opened this I thought I was going to see this picture.
  23. You hook those the same way useing the Wide Gap hook.
  24. My wife lost her grandfather to skin cancer a few years ago. My dad has cancer spots cut out every year. I'm not taking any chances. The first part of this video is me wearing my sun clothes. The hat looks crazy and people give me a strange look when I am wearing long pants and long sleaves on hot sunny days but I don't care. I don't like putting on sun screen so I wear them with pride. They are a little expensive but worth every penny. I have yet to get a sunburn while wearing them and they aren't hot at all.
