  1. i am still a huge fan of Stren Original. we fished P-Line Floroclear a lot last year and loved it. tried Sonic Braid but i am still on the fence on the braid..

  3. Daiwa: Sol Alpha Ito Fuego Zillion btw.....the Fuego is possibly the most under rated reel in the history of Daiwa reels.
  4. Don't go out buying a 23 year old boat unless you have extra cash in order to fix all the potential problems that can occur just using a boat and motor that old. That OB could blow at the next turn of the key. Wiring, plumbing, etc is all susceptable to fail at anytime on the water in a boat that old. I've owned a number of them. $2000 could be spent in the blink of an eye keeping up on a boat that old. You have no idea how any boat 23 years old was used and maintained throughout it's life unless you're purchasing from the original owner. its real easy to drop a grand in a boat motor. thanks to ethanol gas ill be doing just that soon.
  5. The grinding noise started before opening any of them up. And this has never happened to spinning reels of any other brand I have used.... But thats a good point. I think a few dots with a red sharpie can fix that problem in the future. have you sent any of the reels in for service? id love to know what parts failed.
  6. Yes, and it's my first "high-end" rod. I'm screwed man. I've seen the light. Now all my gear is gonna be way more expensive haha! What rod are you referring to? i like the Cumaras but the action seems faster than the rating.
  7. been fishing the docks at hillsdale and melvern. if i find a second ill be on la cygne sunday.
  8. BINGO. i say square them front fenders, decrease down force, and put some skill back into the driver. too many ppl are hung up on pure speed when racing is much more exciting.
  9. when you tighten the screw down you can no longer adjust the mag. brake?
  10. back to the OP's question if it were my money id get the Shimano Compre CPC-C70MHB. rated at 3/8 oz to 1 oz it should cover everything you want to throw.
  11. that's what happens when you take weight off the wrong end. youre probably right. i have sold all my Mojos but one which is the 7' plastics and its now living life as a heavy lipless crankbait rod. oddly i like the heavier feel when running 3/4 oz cranks. on a side note i will add i never broke a Mojo rod, and there were a lot of chances to do so.
  12. i have the Browning Midas 2500 spinning reel and love it. i use it for plastics. from what ive read the new Browning High Power rod is the same blank as the BPS Carbonlite. i could be wrong.
  13. i dont like mine because of the balance - very tip heavy. what size cranks will you be tossing?
  14. looks like a dog trap.
  15. many good holes to fish in the area. melvern is my fav. piece of water but there are 2 great places in olathe to fish as well.
  16. breaking rods isnt a big deal. its the service you get once you try to cash in that warranty that matters to me. i broke a lot of rods in 2010 and i wont buy a few brands because of what had to be done to get the "warranty".
  17. oh that sucks. RIP
  18. oh that sucks. hope things turn quick for you.
  19. they feel just like the Skeet Reece rods, IMO.
  20. yes they do. oddly, ive never broken a risto rap or a fat rap and ive fished them x2 as much.
  21. ive broke quite a few. i swore off buying them but was sucked back in.
  22. IMO a lightly used Revo or Citica are a better option than a new PQ.
