  1. those are good rods to play with. if you destroy it your loss isnt that bad. id like to see what the end product is.
  2. think nothing of it. ill also say your points are well made.
  3. being bored out of my mind and reading other things out there i decided to clean and lube the old Sol spool bearings and re-install them. i still think there is a difference between the two bearings but for me the things ive learned is: a good clean/lube goes a long long way.
  4. Do you think throwing shallow to med cranks on the MH would be ok.... you should be ok but the flip side to this is those style of cranks tend to be on the lighter side. the Falcon Original Cast 7' Med Hvy i think would make a great rod for a blend of big and small. this series of rod is IMO a little lighter than what the rod rating states. you wont be wore out on big cranks and with a good reel should be able to toss 3/16 baits ok. http://www.***.com/descpageCASTFALCON-FOGC.html#
  5. i respect your opinion on the matter. as you read my post it clearly states my prayers go out to his family. was he a seemingly good guy? we thought so. im not sure anyone has to know a person personally to be able to have this opinion. we can assume. we can assume ppl are innocent until proven guilty, but looks like were ready to give sentencing now. i know one ex-poster that might have a little baggage whos totally turned life around. maybe this is a good thing?
  6. youre going to love that sidearm. it loves to be shot.
  7. ppl make mistakes every day. id be interested to know what put this seemingly good man in this position. my prayers go out to his family.
  8. the BPS Extreme rod makes a great med to hvy cranking rod. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98361_100002000_100000000_100002000_100-2-0 at $60 you cant go wrong.
  9. IMO one thing youre missing is: How will this gear feel in 2 years after every day use?
  10. i LOL at this. sort of a slap in the face to posters who ask for gear advise.
  11. i could be wrong but i think specs are: 3x9x4 5x11x4 id want confirmation from other posters on the sizes and if theres anything to gain making a spool bearing upgrade.
  12. youd be shocked at the difference in how these reels act after a good cleaning including the bearings and then not drowning the bearings in fresh oil.
  13. im old so: ill also add: Janes Addiction, Nothings Shocking. still old: Nirvana: Nevermind Alice in Chains: Dirt Santana: Abraxas
  14. ive went out of my way to stay off the band wagons but after replacing the factory spool bearings on my Sol with the orange seal bearing all i can say is wow. these things really make a difference. i suggest them highly.
  15. or another spring to deal with on a clean/lube.
  16. no. i couldnt remember if the plate rotated up or down. at first it wouldnt move either way.
  17. you know, getting the sideplate to rotate up is harder than it should be it seams like. finally i just told myself im either breaking something or the bad boys coming apart.........
  18. trying to break down the revo stx. i can not for the life of me remeber how to remove the brake sideplate. what am i missing?
  19. i thought BJ looked super sharp. when kenflo beat clay like he did i thought it looked bad for diego. i really liked the fight card.
  20. ive used a lot of $100-$130 rods the last 2 years. the 2 rods id look at are Falcon Lowrider Shimano Compre i have many hours on the Mojo bass rod and IMO both these rods blow it out of the water.
  21. wow! thats all i have to say.
  22. if i hear thunder fatboys heading back to the boat ramp.
