in my Sol for light cranks. is this worth the cost to upgrade?

To a 14 year old it's all about popularity. No to ME a "14 year old" its about making sure I'm buying the right reel. This is all my own money that I have worked hard for just like most of you. I want to make sure I'm not going to blow it on a bad reel. I don't know much about brand name quality and I know you guys do. Therefore, I turn to you for help when I find a reel that i like. However, I'm not sure if it is a good brand or model? i respect where youre coming from. i have a large mid-priced rod collection that never gets used. why do i have these rods? "they" said the rods were great. what would help me help you is knowing what youre using now and your likes/dislikes of that gear. in your case though i dont think either reel would be an advantage/disadvantage. both brands have a great rep for quality. why would i have to put new guides on??????? look at a spinning rod. Then look at a casting rod. Notice that the guides are different. There is a reason for that. Technically you could use a spinning rod with a casting reel, but it wouldn't work as well as it could on a regular casting rod. I imagine the spine of the rod and the guide positioning could also lead to premature breakage. what he said. i didnt read down far enough.

i also wonder about how the guides are mounted on the spine of the rod. seams to be the action would be killed. i could be wrong.

yes it is. the other 2 were returned. the phone i brought home from vegas ended up going to indiana. cost me $4 but im a believer in karma so we will see what happens. i did find 4 nice crank baits yesterday....

the funny thing is i seen the case going in and decided if the case was still there on the waY out i was going to stop and get it. was the most exciting thing i caught all day.

co-sign. Cabelas has the Sol spinning on sale for $150 and after an hour of playing with the reel on different rods i picked up a Steez mounted on a Lowrider and it was like a slice of heaven. i suggest everyone has at least one.
