I saw that the lake got a ton of water... have you heard if they are going to drop the lake before the weekend? theyre dropping water like crazy. 6" of rain from thursday to saturday.... i had a sweet pattern working too. good luck on smithville.

the Cabelas IM6 series is a good rod for the money. i had a 5600 C3 mounted on one and it would cast 3/8 oz baits like crazy.

i still love the part where it says Greg was unconscious and in the water for 10 mins. what did the boat do that was taping? go get coffee? the real shame is theres a lot of boaters out there with a ton of common sense that could have told the driver what was going to happen. the lifejacket and kill switch saved Gregs life, but only because Greg made it.

SI is a fun toy but enless you tourney fish every weekend IMO its not worth the cost.

the tourney is sunday, the club is nascar fans. want on? 4 boats signed up so far. i might add the fishing there was HARD yesterday. the water went up over 3' in 4 days. no largemouth and one smallie.

i think we had the same day in 2 different states. RW was right though, i spent the day with my father which rocks.

this is the other side of every great lake. the lake had risen over 3 feet in the 4 days prior to us fishing. a small stain in the water. storm fronts going through. we cranked the sames spots that gave up big time before. nothing. started fishing with the fishfinder. cranked deep water. nothing. dropshot fish in the fishfinder. nope. we could see the fish, but the werent biting. i finaly boated a fish on a shaky head in about 22' of water. the up size is the fish was the biggest smallie ive ever caught. in all 2 other fish were caught, a drum and a good sized cat.

processing a deer isnt rocket science but if youve never done it you might be ahead of the game packing up the deer and having it done by a pro. id make sure you know how to skin/quarter a deer. when its hot out i like to pack my kill in a clean trash can and ice.

if you could recoup your expenses i think refurbishing old boats for a pass time would i great hobby.

thats a nice fish and a great pic. those are the types of pics that make my desktop until the next nice fish.
