  1. You could look at that new Ruger LCR or LCP. Both are decent firearms. I've sold a ton of them. My buddy just picked one up the other day. I have a question about Ruger. I have held a couple and they seem a bit loose. Like when you shake them it sounds like loose parts are inside. Is this normal? I stopped looking after noticing this on the 3 different models.Clips were out on all three. I don't know if that makes a difference. impossible to tell without the gun that "rattles" sitting in front of me. the MK II has a strut that rotated up and down that can rattle a bit and that is normal. my P95 does not rattle at all.
  2. i kill a lot of paper.
  3. now all you need is the 30 round mag. ;D
  4. ive had 2 Colts and neither of them were as nice as my Kimber. to be honest even the Para Ordnance i though out shot the stock Colts.
  5. my wife as 2 guns. one is a S&W Model 438 revolver. its .38 and shoots +P if you want. its the perfect lady gun i think. she also has a Ruger LCP .380. great gun for the money.
  6. thats some status symbol.................lol. its not 150 carrot stix though.
  7. i have found this to be the case. ive never returned a busted rod but i took back a tourney IM7 that had some weird seat problem and got a new rod. plus, their rods arent to shabby.
  8. thanks Muddy!!!! man i got plans already for a few of these.
  9. the seller would just engrave "inspected by" in front of reject.
  10. sounds perfect. my "first" set-up was a $20 5'6" eagleclaw rod and a used Abu blackmax reel. ive probably caught more fish on that set-up than my Sol/whatever rod its on today set-up.
  11. i agree. especially when one poster seems like he either knows more than the fishing world or is googling for good answers. even unwriten facts speak for themselves.
  12. i search for gear thats been listed but mis spelled. i am stuck on looking for Daiwa gear though.........
  13. It was listed as used, 6.4:1 ratio. When it arrived it looked good, except that the gear ratio on the star drag looked like it had been scratched as to make it unreadable, however the 2nd number in the ratio was clearly a 1, making it a 7.1:1. When I contacted the seller about this (the first time I contacted him through email) I was informed that it was the the handle and peices from a 7.1:1 but the reel was a 6.4:1. Upon further prodding from me he revealed it was actually a refurbished reel - or so he said this time... I could never get a clear answer out of him as to what the true ratio really is if its a 6.4:1 with a 7.1:1 retreive on it or if its just a 7.1:1. When I tested how many inches it retreived it adds up to being a 7.1:1, so I am fairly certain he was trying to be deceptive by scratching off the gear ratio... trying to make it seem like it may have been a 6.4:1 Either way it was either a) deception or b)a refurbished reel which definately is not what was in the description. All of this confusion and lack of a straight answer is what made be go through paypal with the claim as I was uncomfortable dealing with him. Here is the actual description: ABU GARCIA REVO STX LEFT HANDED GR 6.4:1 BAIT CAST Item condition: Used ABU GARCIA REVO STX LEFT HANDED,STAR DRAG,HAS THUMBAR RELEASE,10+1 SHIELDED STAINLESS STEEL BALL BEARING,INFINITY II SPOOL,LINEAR MAGNETIC BRAKE SYSTEM,ADJUSTABLE CARBON MATRIX DRAG,WT.8.8 OZ,LINE CAP.12/140 THIS REEL IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION,HAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF SURFACE SRATCHES,BUT NOT BAD,THIS REEL NEW SELLS FOR 199.99,VERY NICE REEL how does the reel work? is it possible the guy thought all along the reel was a 6.4:1?
  14. i bought a 5600 CL that was described as "new" with no box. when i got the reel it wasnt smooth at all. i emailed the seller and he asked that i disassemble the reel, clean the level wind and add a small drop of oil on the bearings. since i did want the reel i did as i was asked and the reel came right to life afterwards. was the seller out of line? maybe. im not the best reel tech in the world but lucky for me the 5600 series reels arent that hard to break down. most problems like this can be worked out IMO. p.s. id not shoot lube on the mag brake myself
  15. The citica is $120. Unless you know something I dont? The citica retails for $120, and I know something you don't. is there an ignore feature on the forum? 8-)
  16. just watched the video on line. wow. griffin never had a chance. silvas next fight should be him vs. franklin and griffen at the same time. id still be scared to bet against silva.
  17. i would offer that the seller could pay for shipping to get back his reel. cuzz thats what it is, his reel. if he chooses not to do so then its yours with a clear conscience. then do you buying on site here.
  18. if youre tossing 3/4 jigs id really wait and spend a bit more on a rod. if youre tossing nothing bigger than 5/16 id look at All Star IM10 rods and Fenwick HMX rods. maybe a Falcon Original. also, are you buying over the net? what stores are close to you that sell rods? id really try to go store fish a few fods before spending your money. even if the rods out of your price range you can post what you liked and its possible another member can suggest the perfect rod for you. i still fish all 3 rods i listed, with the Fenwick and Falcon being the 2 i like the most. good luck.
  19. that is super sweet. ive repainted 2 old daiwas but have yet to do so with an air brush. the one thing ive learned is: painting is the easy part. making sure you dont get paint where you dont want it = hard.
  20. i was told by a cabelas customer service rep that the warranty on their rods are so good, you could buy a rod, step out of the door, break it on the ground in front of the store and walk back in and get another one free of charge. now, is that what they practice or is it a sales pitch? i dont know but ive never had a problem returning a thing at cabelas.
  21. is there much difference between "branded" reels and the pinnacles in wal-mart?
  22. pic of the day, titled one lucky kid.
  23. I think this is about right, but on sub-$100 rods it's really not worth it IMHO. By the time you add $20 shipping onto a $50 rod purchase, you're within $30 of full retail price for a new one. Used $100 rod for $70 or a brand new one for $100? I'd choose the new one every time, but that's just me. thats my deal right there. plus, i really think theres a lot better rods out there for the same price. im not into putting gear i dont like on others. ill find someone local and let them use it, if they like the gear we will work a deal.
