  1. the problem with primitive firearms is after 50 yards or so you have no idea where the round will hit. ...which makes the hunt more challenging. I just don't understand why there are special muzzleloader seasons when the effective range of modern muzzleloaders is just as good as, if not better than, the rifled barrel 12 ga. slug guns used in the regular season (no rifles allowed in my area of NY). i understand your point but gut shooting a deer to go die a long death stinks. id rather be able to drop the deer in its tracks which means a well place round with a lot of energy.
  2. the problem with primitive firearms is after 50 yards or so you have no idea where the round will hit. i love the Encore Endeavor..................drool.......
  3. there are many threads about this rod. a quick search will give you a lot of info.
  4. i like the whole Falcon line of rods. the Original is IMO an under rated rod. i use FS-4-166 (6'6", M) for tubes, drop shot, and shaky head. its done very well for me. i also have the LFS-5-1610 (6'10" Med Hvy) Lowrider. ive not caught a fish with this rod yet but it fished very well in the store. if i didnt already have too much gear id love to test drive a Cara T7 spinning rod but....
  5. i keep both eyes open while at the range BUT have a pair of glasses with tape in the upper left corner blocking the view while in a shooting stance. this has helped me a lot. i starting doing this shooting trap. it transferred ok to pistols.
  6. they also carry disease.
  7. i stopped in @ the local BPS here and the reels were marked $199. that stinks. the Fuegos were $126 though....

id give the check back and ask for cash.
  9. at 15 years old i dont think i was Arse to my family but i was very self centered. the reason parents often know best is because chances are we were the same bratty kid you might be now. the best advice id give is try not to take family matters personal. i love it when my kids tell me why theyre mad, often its something silly and can be fixed. #2) i smoked at a young age because it made me feel as though i was all grown up. at 40 years old, mature to me is knowing as a youth you can smoke/dip and not get bust, BUT still dont. #3) join the club #4) join the club again and that could be as easy as changing the food you eat and seeing what phisical activities you can do at school.
  10. that is a nice sidearm. i love 1911 series guns. i carry a Kimber Pro Carry Ten II. i have a Para LTC that is also a well build gun. do you hand load your .45's?
  11. I'm glad to hear that!! If it was an Alphas R-edition, I would go in that direction... I'm just not a fan of the alphas ito unless you want it for a collection. The finish on that reel is high maintenance to say the least. It's a great performer on the water though... The Core 50MG7 is one bad little dude though. Easily one of the best reels by Shimano IMHO. So between those two, the Core for me. Im wondering if my Ito is going to show water stains. not sure it will bother my if it does, it just looks like it would.
  12. Shimano Symetre FJ Spin Reel 2500. it took me a season to get used to spinning gear but now i love the thing for tubes and smaller trick worms. that price range for a rod youre going to have a large selection. i liked the Wright & McGill spinning rods. i also like the Falcon Lowrider series as well. id go out of your way to handle the rods before you buy them.
  13. i never noticed, maybe its because i dont care. i could be wrong..... the only homer that sticks out is the kid that bashed ALL centrifugal braking reels and swore Mojo rods were as good or better than Steez rods. i think i still owe RW a drink for packing his bags.
  14. im so far out of the "new stuff" loop i dont even know what the .327 is. hows that Sig treating you?
  15. the Zillion is a fine reel. let us see your setup once you get it together.
  16. i guess because ima Daiwa homer. to be honest id take the Curado over both of the listed reels. the chances of anything being "loose" is slim to none. ive used mine as a heavy cranking reel since day one and its still tight as a drum. i dont see you getting your moneys worth out of a Zillion over a Curado. JMO
  17. id buy something with re-sell value in case you dont like it. an Abu 4500/4600 series off ebay and a rod off the flea market. JMO
  18. what was loose? i hope the one i have beat to death and never serviced dont start to feel loose..... BTW.....id get the Zillion.
  19. whats fun is picking up your son and youre driving down the road and he whips out this mask and says "look at these gas masks they gave us". shortly after he pops some type of smoke/stink grenade that instantly made me start choking and felt as though i had ground pepper in my eyes. morgan thought it was funny as hell.
  20. very repectable shooting with that rifle/range on a running animal. congrads.
  21. the rod is rated at Lure Weight: 3/8-3/4. you should be ok. will you feel like you just ran a marathon after tossing the bait all day? not sure.
  22. not to hyjack the thread but im curious to know the advantages of having a "Pixilla" over a Steez.
  23. how big are the jigs youre using? id assume that rod would handle 7/16 to 1/2 jigs with trailers nicely.
