  1. Fishbully, I fish Lake Degray and the Rivers closeby some. Any help I can give, let me know. I live closeby and fish the Lake just about weekly.Crowcommander
  2. I know Dick's and they don't have near the selection or prices as Academy in our area of Central Arkansas.
  3. Ditto on the flourocarbon line, usually SEAGAR 20#,I like about 8' of line on a 7' rod, look up the Slim beauty knot on Google, learn to tie it in the dark and you're set! Crowcommander
  4. You may have the connections wrong on your battery.Last year my neighbor had the same problem on his Merc 25 hp. Terminals were faded due to Sunlight. Red is positive,Black is negative. Just a thought.Crowcommander
  5. Anyone fished this lake lately. Thinking about going over there next week and need a place to start. Crowcommander
  6. Is there a story on Greg Hackney only winning $500K in FLW Cup? Surely he can afford to get comp'd a Ranger.
  7. My favorite is the Gambler Cane Toad in Bull Frog or Florida 50 with the Zoom Horny Toad,a distant 2nd. I modify a 5/0 Horny toad or stanely hook by wrapping soldering wire around the shank to keep it upright and always use a glass bead (from Hobby Lobby and BTW you'll make points with the wifey by shopping there).
  8. WOW!!! What a website!!! The Jet Doctor is awsome. Will definetly call tommorrow and get a whale tail and spray bar for my 1650 express. Just had a 40 jet installed and its spraying water in big time. Its amazing what you can learn just by reading the titles of forums.
  9. Just received 2 0f E7s and 2 E5s and was pleasantly surprised to find JAPAN stamped on bottom of reel foot. They're spooled up and ready to go tomorrow if this rain lets up. We've had about 8 inches this past week.
  10. X2 on that advice and have them change the lower grease in the foot also! Many folks have extended warranties on motors and the water pump is not on them. It only cost about $150 around here and well worth it considering what a new motor or power head costs.
  11. Aside from being 7 bucks cheaper,is there much difference between Seaguar Red Label and Seaguar Inviz flouro line. I usually only spool on about 65 yds but this stuff gets expensive after a while. Thanks for any advice.Crowcommander
  12. Thanks for all your input. The little brown truck should be driving up the drive tommorrow. I feel like a 8 year old waiting for Christmas.I love this forum because folks are so eager to give advice and opinions. Crowcommander
  13. Fish, you didn't say what brand you had,but the last MG I had, there was 2 allen screws under the control panel and handle. I loosened those and turned it a 180 and tightened them back up,Went to Wally World and bought a BIGFOOT switch(its like a foot controled dimmer switch). To remove the old transom bracket,I believe all the wiring comming out of the shaft are connected by spades so you can pull them off the connectors. Just write down where each color wire goes, hook um up and give her the smoke test!! Crowcommanderl
  14. Has any one used these reels enough to form an opinion? I just sold 2 Jap Curados at Gun show and want to order 2 of each ratio. Any help appreciated. Crowcommander
  15. Dicks Sporting Goods opened in Hot Springs, Ar. They have Cavitron Buzzers and Megastrike!! Whopeeee!
  16. Lots of times when I go with my buddy and start fishing that "used water", I say I'm gonna put some gravy on it (Megastrike) and bam I catch up with him. This stuff works!! Great Job!!!
  17. Just wondering what grease you guys use? I was thinking about the stuff with Teflon but its a little pricey.
  18. Anyone bought one yet? My old Garmin is getting lines up and down it and I'd like to step up.Just want the depth sounder only. Thanks Crowcommander. Also, is there a place to buy them cheaper than BPS
  19. X2 on this.look up the slim beauty knot to connect these two lines and learn it till you can tie it in the dark.
  20. Thanks for all the input folks,it seems that this big 7" pushes too much water to be fished "wacky" style. Its about like throwing a baby water moccasin snake when it hits the water. I may try cutting the pointy end off and burning it on the worn out end and trying that. I keep the old ones in my "injured reserve bag". Crowcommander
  21. This is going to sound stupid, but has any anyone had any luck using the ponted end of the 7" YUm Dingers. This babies ain't cheap and I'm trying to reuse them after the frt end is torn up. Sometimes I bite off a half inch or so,but then It really gets into the thick area. Any help appreciated. I'm using a 5/0 Gamy round bend. Thanks Crowcommander
  22. If you have a late model Gmc or Chevy vehicle you may have a seperate fuse blown marked "trailer runnung lights" in your fuse panel,on the drivers side dash. Its there for safety in case your trailer wires fail, you'll still have lights on your vehicle. Mine went out and I found the problem on my boat trailer. They welded bolts in the trailer channel for the wires to run thru and they vibrated thru the insulation. Hope this helps.Crowcommander
  23. Has any one bought a new 60/40 Merc Jet? My old 03 60/40 2 cycle has died and I'm planning on getting a new 4 stroke. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Crowcommander
  24. I purchased 4 Codes, all 7.0 and from the start 1 reel seemed rough on the main gear or what I thought was the main drive gear. After I got it off the rod it seemed iot was in the bearings on the spool. I sent it in with the box and they replaced it no charge. I too feel they are worth the money and having never used the 7.0,it is amazing how it helps in bassing. Crowcommander
  25. I don't know what all the rage is about, pardon my pun,but if memory serves Riverside Bait has made a worm similar to the Anaconda. If I can find some in my archives I'll ask the wifey to post a picture. Most 10" worms seem to grade out the smaller fish and I seem to catch a larger bass with them.Yum and Zoom are my favorite although in all fairness I haven't tried the Anacondas. If one of my buddies give me a lesson on them I'll go that night and get some or order them overnight as I did when I first was introduced to Mr. PacaCraw. Crowcommander.
