  1. Until I got rid of the reel - Revo Premier ($500) and Johnny Morris Elite ($350) got total of $850. I know, I know. But I spent double on the rod and reel because I wanted it to be twice as good. Seriously, though, right now it would be my JM Elite reel on my JM Elite rod. About $400 total.
  2. The S is a great reel. I think it performs as well as the SX, and almost as well as the STX (which I think casts a wee bit better). The brake is more effective than the other Revos' magnetic brakes, IMO. Unless you just have to have a magnetic brake, or a more more blinged-up reel, the S is the best value Revo.
  3. He asked if anyone else has tried it, and I have. So I posted my opinion. My opinion of it is based on my experience, not everyone elses. I'm no expert, but I know what I like. UM, no. How 'bout that. Hows about I just tell you what I don't like, and what I do - since it interests you. I don't like Cajun, and I don't like Maxx. I thought they felt thick, were stiff and had lots of memory. Your experience, or opinion, may differ . I do like Stren Original and Trilene XL. It's limp, smooth, and cheap. So I can respool and not feel like I'm wasting money. I've recently started using Yo-Zuri Hybrid at Roadwarrior's recommendation and it's now my favorite for plastics. It's a little stiff, but it casts well from a baitcaster, transmits vibes very nicely, and I haven't had any breakage or knot issues with it.
  4. You changed the date.
  5. Look at the drag ratings. According to the BPS catalog, most of the Pfluegers have 9 lb drags, whereas the Johnny Morris' have 14 lbs. That won't mean squat for 90% of your fishing. But a stronger drag may come in handy in some situations.

LOL, Ric Flair. I don't watch wrestling now, but I rememer him from when I was a kid. I was into wrestling back in the Wahoo McDaniel days.
  7. IIRC the Johnny Morris has a higher rated drag.
  8. and #4. The racer decides to find something a little smaller, and the rattler is wondering who was biting his butt
  9. #3
  10. #2
  11. I found this series of pics on a snake site I visit. Pictures were taken in Georgia of a Black Racer attemtping to devour a Canebrake Rattler...
  12. What Muddy said. Only I'm keeping my All Stars.
  13. I tried Maxx last year and thought it blew chunks. I thought the only difference between it and Red Cajun Advantage was the color. I thought it was stiff and had loads of memory.
  14. Gimp isd a great program. It has a pretty big learning curve on its most advance features.

    Gonna register as GitRDone24? ;D
  16. I have an All Star American Classic 7' MH/F c-rig rod that I like alot. Cost is about $90. Doubles as a good toad rod.
  17. Maybe it was one of them grass carp.
  18. I'd do it, but the 18th is a Friday and I'm working. I've been wanting to go back all winter.
  19. What!?!?!?!? This thing is just coming to life!
  20. In all fairness, how many 38 degree days are there in Georgia? What, the GA mean winter temperature is something like 54 degrees. You could have a 38 degree day and still have water in the 50s and a topwater hit could be plausible. For LBH, a 38 degree winter day is a warm day in RI. It's a very cold day in GA. probably one of those catfish, though 8-) ;D
  21. Maybe it was one of those catfish.
  22. No one has thought of that! Good idea!
  23. Burley is from extreme southwest Virginia. For there, his speech is highly eloquent.
  24. I have quite a few All Stars (IM10s and American Classics) and they have performed great. I have an American Classic 7'6" H/XF flippin' stick and I once used it to pull my Chevy out of a ditch. Seriously, though, it's a tough rod.
  25. I almost spit my spit out on that one! ;D ;D ;D ;D
