Well its here chronarch d
My previous comment not withstanding, the new Chronarch is a really appealing reel to me. I like color, the construction, etc. It appeals to me much more than the Curado E. It's perfect. Except for the price. That is the one thing that would keep me from considering it.

Revo STX Micro-click cast control?
I would. The knob has to be the expensive part, and that's necessary. The other parts you need are the stamped copper clicker that fits in the knob and the plastic thing with teeth that fits on the end of the threads on the sideplate. Those ought to cheap. If you get the clicking parts, make sure you install the copper piece he right way in the knob or it won't work right.

Skipping a grade!!!
Yep, looks like you are getting things on the right track. Better late than never. Congrats! And glad to have you on BR. School comes first, though. There will be plenty of time yet for BR and fishing.

Well its here chronarch d
Nice paint finish, aluminum sideplates, high speed. All that and only $100 more than the Revo STX.

carpet glue
I don't know anything about contact cement and carpet, but carpet adhesive adds a water-resistant layer. I've used it on plywood flooring and decking on my boat. It's gotten its share of soakings and the carpet is stuck down as tight now as it was when I first applied it.

Burley, you'd be the coolest Peter Pan ever.

Turmoil at GAMMA?
Whatever Gamma's situation, I think the open-letter was absurd. So much for a graceful exit.

Apartment Pet
You know, the Chia Pet thing hasn't reached its zenith, yet. I can think of many more fur or hair bearing "things" that would really be cool sculped in terracotta.

Apartment Pet
Corn snakes are pussycats. Like I said, easy to take care of, interesting and quite pretty. They have lovely dispositions. Mine will actually come to my hand (expecting a mouse, no doubt). They don't get so big (like Boas) that they become really burdensome. Even if they do accidentally bite, it's less than a cat scratch. They are perfectly content with not being handled for long periods. They are clean, and their poop won't stink you out of the house like a cat. You can feed them a mouse, $.99 a week. I definitely don't recommend one if your heart's not in it. Just trying to say that if it were they really make a great pet for a small place.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid. One of RW's endorsements I wholeheartedly agree with.

A corn snake is a great pet. You can keep it in a 20 gallon tank, minimal heat requirements. Eats once a week. Does take some committment but otherwise they are a easy to maintain, interesting pet.

Fenwick Rods
I agree with the above opinions. The HMXs and HMGs are excellent rods.

The only safe time to eat that stuff is if you were on death-row and it was your last meal.

What does our future hold in America?
I agree with Long Mike. A decline in work ethics, and may I add plain 'ole common courtesy and decency, troubles me far more. We can get through the economic hard times. Getting back morals is the hard part. I'm not so sure it won't take a dose of real evil to get people to remember the difference between right and wrong.

Should I get mono, copolymer or braid??
What kind of pilings? Concrete? If so, I don't think braid will be the best choice. For an all-around line, you can't beat Yo-Zuri Hybrid. It's significantly stronger than it's rated test, has very little stretch, and it is very abrasion resistant. I use on my deep cranking outfit, and most of the application that need a MH or H rod. I even use it for fishing frogs.

New guy...Looking for some ponds in Harrisonburg
http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/waterbodies/display.asp?id=116 The fishing isn't as bad as the first page would have you think. It's actually pretty good. I have a friend who's son goes to JMU and he fishes it and likes it quite a bit. There are some big, honkin' muskies in the lake, too.

rapalas triggerx plastics...anyone heard of them?
I didn't see anything that particularly jumped out at me. They look like pretty traditional designs. The market is already saturated with good, traditional plastics. The tubes look kinda cool, though. The frogs look like Yum's Buzzfrog. I was hoping for something more eye-popping. And their website is a pain in the butt to use.

Eel rig for striper fishing?
Use a swivel and about a 24 inch piece of mono leader attached to a big octopus hook. Lip hook the eel on the hook. That's about it. Don't use a real stiff leader. If it's too stiff, the eel will wrap around it.

Crappie in the Winter
IMO, there's not a heck of a lot of difference. They tend to school at all times of the year except when they spawn. They tend to hang around deeper structure. Marabou jigs work at all times of the year though it may take a few tries at finding the particular color they are drawn to on any given day. I've had some luck with jigs in all-white to chartruese and hot pink. They will bite even when the water is very cold. I know guys that have cracked ice with their boats and brought home good catches of them. For really good crappie info, check out Crappie.com. They have state-specific forums and you can pick up some good tips for your area.

In-line muzzleloaders
I agree with Burley. T/C rifles are top-notch. I hunted for years with one of their less expensive rifles, a T/C Black Diamond (stainless, black composite stock). It was accurate, light, and it's compact size was perfect for some of the jungles of eastern Virginia. T/C makes great guns. They exhibit a high degree of workmanship. I don't hunt much anymore, but my son wants a .22. T/C's R-55 rifle is on the short-list of contenders.

Woo Hoo!!!
I just bought two Fuegos. Very smooth and light reels. They cast very nicely.
