  2. Can anyone else not see the link? I'm not from Texas, but it sounds like interesting material.
  3. Upstate! Thank you for joining us
  4. There's a color scheme you don't see everyday. I like it...a lot!! Hope you go gangbusters.
  5. I hear you barking RW!
  6. Hey, don't know if this is old hat, but I recently saw on the Art of Angling and an online interview that Rick Clunn uses a 7' Heavy, Fast graphite rod for all of his baitcasting techniques. Topwater, crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs...everything. My understanding of it is that he only wants to adjust to the weight of a lure when he changes up. Not a different rod and reel. He also feels that as a power fisherman that the heavy action is the way to go. So what's up with this? Have I been searching for that perfect pitching stick with the right tip to backbone for nothing? Is my quest for a good lefty low gear ratio cranking reel over? Is Rick Clunn just that good? What do you guys and gals think about the one size fits all setup?
  7. Nice fish and nice rig 8-)
  8. Same jig, same line? Just curious, upgrades are always around the corner.
  9. Thank you Jim, this is an excellent tutorial!
  10. What style are you interested in? What gear are you going to be throwing them on? They come in all shapes and sizes, this will help narrow it down.
  11. I agree. I really like this technique for weed clumps. I use a 2/0 or 3/0 gammy octopus for a 5" stick bait.
  12. Haha, nice Allen. Good luck, how deep you finding them these days?
  13. Ouch Allen ouch! Rest up and heal fast. How do you get your boat to the water if you aren't supposed to drive?
  14. Yeah that's rough, almost as rough as having health issues... edit: Sorry Basser I didn't think long enough before posting, I just hope that the owner of Heavy Cover doesn't have anything life threatening. Good luck putting that color together.
  15. Good luck Bass Novice, be sure to bring a notebook and a pen. For the nay sayers, I don't know what Randall, George, and whomever else guides from BR rates are. I'm not asking either. A quick google search has shown an average price of 375$ for 8 hours of guide services. This comes out to 1,125 $ for three days. Roger Brown is asking 1,200$ for three days. Roger Brown is an established guide/coach on a great fishery. What's an extra 75 bones if you're making that kind of investment on a fishing trip anyways?
  16. On one local reservoir that is electric only I've seen a few bass rigs with 2 transom mounted trolling motors. They kept their big engine out of the water, they didn't exactly cruise but if your lake is small enough it might be an option?
  17. Wow I wish NY would publish some 2 ft interval contour maps. I'm jealous! Good luck finding those honey holes.
  18. ditto except for the island, double digits, and tournament wins
  19. Big M <<>> Reel Mech <<>> GMAN <<>> Booyah!
  20. Wait, so are you a member here still... Have you checked the stickies? They're at the top of every section and are awesome.
  21. Baltimore is a great city Budaman! Beleive!
  22. Here it is. The price seems to keep going up > and their shipping charge isn't great, good, even ok either. > > http://www.lurecraft.com/catalog.cfm/materials-~and~-tools/skirts/living-rubber This site is from a google search. Better prices than lurecraft and shipping. I have no idea if they are still doing business/good to do business with. http://www.livingrubber.com/prdetail.asp?pid=1 Has anyone here ordered from them or heard anything about them?
  23. Worms and fish, they don't bother me for live bait. When people start putting hooks in frogs, snakes, and other non traditional live bait...there has to be a better way! Frogs and snakes are natural pest control, why not let them be?
