  1. Some great advice. Sometimes I will let if suspend for a minute before moving it 12-18". My partner will smoke a cigerette bewteen jerk sometimes ;D

Yeap. They are worth it. There are 3 models that I use LC Pointer 100. By far the best jerkbait I have used RC Crankbaits. Great Cranks Sammy. Awesome topwater lure. These models are the only lucky crafts that I buy.
  3. Lucky Craft Rick Clun 2.5 Manns C4 and Manns-1 Norman FatBoy That should get you started.
  4. Actually Cabelas has the SR rod on sale on their website for $165. 8-)
  5. Jigs and Rattle Traps. I tend to stick to the basics. Jerkbait might not be bad either, but above 45 degrees the jig bite should really start coming on.
  6. I use LC pointer 100. However fishing in a pond I might go with something a little cheaper unless you willind to swin out in the pond to retreive your $16 Lucky craft. X-raps are good, but you might want to pick up a few Smithwick Rogues. They are cheap and will get the job done.
  7. Below is a link to lamiglas 705 R. It has the same specs as the SR model, but not in that PUKE yellow color. http://www.***.com/descpageRDCLAMIGLAS-LCPROFG.html
  8. This rod is what you want for deep divers. I was torn between the Lamiglas and the Powell. You cant go wrong with either one of these rods. Enjoy.
  9. I also like to use a shorter rod around docks and a 7' MH rod for slow rolling/deeper water applications.
  10. Mine is BCR843 GLX with Shimano MG50. This combo is unbelievable.
  11. You might want to checkout St Croix LTB series. Cableas Bargin Cave have last years disontinued model on sale for around $200. It is well within your budget. I bought a the 7tel. C-rig Rod and I am very happy with it. Lifetime warrenty too.
  12. I will be trying the norman speed clips this year. I just hate tying on crankbaits. I usually end up catch myself a few times during the day. At least I know my hooks are sharp.
  13. I have a lot of the falcon boxes. They are nice, but around $12 a pop for the 700 series. You might want to get a 400 series spinnerbait box from Falcon. It holds 15 spinnerbaits. The medium -size crankbait box is nice too. However, since you dont have much tackle I would get Bass Proo Shops Tackle Boxes. 5 for $10 is hard to beat during their Spring sale.
  14. you need one more rattle trap box.
  15. A beginner cant go wrong with these rods. I own 3 of them. I still use the 7'MH Extreme Rod for my big spinnerbait rod. This is a very good all around rod that can be used for jigs, worms, C-rig, and spinnerbaits. I am not that high on the BPS reels. Maybe I got a melon >
  16. Is just me or these hooks crap? I though the Strike King used Gammy hooks. I bought some pro model cranks and it reminded me of the wiggle wart hooks. The only hooks worse are the cheap ones on the Zara Spook.
  17. I always find when fishing a lizard the bite is more of smack. I have a term called the vacuum bite, where essentially the bass inhales the lure and it is just sitting in it mouth. It seems like the bigger fish do this especially with jig. The line just goes limp. Maybe it is just me.
  18. I made few rod socks two weeks ago. I went to the clearance rack at the local fabric store and bought a heavy fabric that was a 1/4" thick. I made all of mine 7'6" long and around ~3.5" wide when u fod the fabric over. I can fit 4 rods in my PVC tube that I made last year. I can post pics later this evening if you want.
  19. PLINE FLuorocarbon 8# I use this for deep diving cranks.
  20. Braid if the water is dirty. Fluorocarbon if water is clear.
  21. ^^^ Agree. I would think you would want a 7' MBR to fish worms.
  22. Couple ideas. 1. Like other have said get a weightless worm, tube rod rod. 2. Get a big crank setup exclusively for deep divers (DD22, Fat Free Shad, and Manns 20+). I would opt for 7'6'' MH rod (even heavy). This rod can double for ripping lipless cranks through grass. 3. Carolina rig rod. something around 7'3" 4. Depending on how much you fish jigs you might want a pitchin stick. 7'6" Hvy 5. Treat yourself to a GLX BCR854. Just a few ideas now it is up to you.
  23. Does anyone have any experience pulling a 21ft fiberglass boat with a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a towing capacity of 6500? Would you feel comfortable driving this combo 200 miles several times a year? Thanks. Any input would be helpful.
  24. Jerkbait LC pointer 100 SP
